PvP Power?

Hey! How does PvP Power work in wow now adays? I see gems, enchants and it on gear, I've heard it works, but how?
PvP power seems to still be working, as least when i tested it. I salvaged an old macro(the one Swoops posted) and the prideful greatsword gave me around 22% damage. I noticed a significant increase of my damage, but i didnt have my damage meter updated to verify. If it gives 22% though, the weapons will likely consistently be BiS for PvP.

PvP Power rating converts to a percentage based on your level like other secondary stats, you can see what percent you have with

/run print("Damage:", GetPvpPowerDamage(), "Healing:", GetPvpPowerHealing() )

DPS/tank specs get x% damage, and around 0.4x% healing, healing specs get x% healing and 0 damage from it.
Would I replace "healing" with damage in that macro to see dmg

From what i have tested and found on the internet, the scaling and changes to resilience long ago made it pretty bad in defensive power at higher levels(like 1% per 100). Perhaps it may work better at lower levels, but i imagine it would be hard pressed to get enough to mean much at those levels(believe it was around 14=1% reduction at low levels)
