PvP power vs attack power

Hey, so I know this bracket is kinda dead, but me and a few friends have been making some 60 twinks in case it comes back to life, and right now we're doing some 2 vs 2 (since we're 4) and some duels.
We're running lvl 60 with as many sockets as possible.
I'm playing a ret pally which puts me at 17 sockets.(missing one ring so got 16 right now).
With the gear I've farmed from ramparts right now I can either go with 838 attack power and 25% pvp power or 1282 attack power and no pvp power. (obviously I could do something in between).
But do anyone have any insight on how I should prioritise? and how much AP I can sacrefice for PvPP?

I thought about writing a lengthy post, but I think this sums it up really nicely.

Twitch

TL;DR : Typically, PVP resilience > PVP power

Doesn't really answer the question between PvP Power vs Attack power though.

They haven't even figured this out on the most-played bracket, 70, I personally believe that AP is always better, considering you might want to do some PvE now and then (and since we cant have two seperate sets).

I also do not have an answer though ^^

I have been playing on my ret pally lately and i gemmed full full strength and did some pvp then i gemmed full pvp power and i noticed a huge number difference between the two and I think pvp power is the way to go over AP by a long shot. Though this is only what i have tested and seen in pvp but it works out very well for me in pvp.

I think there will be a soft spot between around 15-20% PvP Power and the rest attack power to maximise the bonus damage from PvP power and ensuring the bonus damage is a worthy amount.
I should be reaching 60 in the next day or so depending how much energy I have to put into leveling and will certainly try both, with a mixture between them too.

I have yet to try a mixture of both but as a pally i rock 38% out of bgs and 32% in bgs and that does alot more damage from when i was all strength. Then like i said I have yet to try both of them together but i think even 10-15% less pvp power and more AP/strength, will loose out on more damage.

Can I get an armory link to your toon please?

On Topic:
You may be right, I didn't realise you could get it so high.

Yeah sure,

I am not full BiS yet and i know that :D and I have 3 30 stam gems in my head so i have more HP ,and i use it for my tanking set, And I have yet to get the Cloak of Coordination for the extra 28 PVP power....If i went full pvp power i can get around 11% more pvp power and i might be testing that 11% more very soon, meaning i can get like 49-50% pvp power..and when you go into BGs you loose 5% pvp power.

I think the softcap for PvP Power is around 25-30%, aim for that and the rest AP and see how it goes.

when I get home tonight I'll start building up some data and try to figure out the best ratio of AP:pvP Power as well as Stamina:pvP Resilience :)

For a rogue example. It will be worth stacking only Agility for example since Agility gives Crit Chance + Dodge. So a full Agility stacked rogue will actually have between 60-70% Crit chance which will boost your burst damage like PvP POwer and you also have something between 45-65% Dodge chance aswell which will work very good with some resilience from pvp gear. This is for 70 but should work for 60s aswell.
