PTR bgs reward gear based on ilvl?

Had a friend of mine say the BGS are rewarding gear based on ilvl for sub-120s. I really hope this isn't the case that will really screw up the twinking scene in a bunch of ways.

We should probably check it out and send feedback to blizz ;-; see if anything can be done about it.

I don't think they generally have enough people to get any BG on the PTR, or even have them activated, do they?

Did your friend "hear it somewhere" like most people do when the sky starts falling?

They recently activated BGs

I think it's probably just a tooltip error, meant for 120's only but maybe not?

I opened some bg boxes on druid and they were the usual ilvl 270 or whatever. So probably just a 120 thing. Unless it only counts boxes obtained after the patch.

On my lvl 29 it says ilvl 300 so it's definitely not accurate. Hopefully reward scaling will work sub-120 but maybe just toned down a bit.
