Prot pally or prot warrior?

My main 49 twink is a shammy but I have some good prot gear laying around and am thinking of rolling either a prot pally or warrior. Any input on which would be better for A) surviving and B) killing stuff?

I've seen a twinked prot pally and they are near unkillable, especially with the bubbles. For killing stuff, my guess would however be the prot warrior... intercept, some good damage, disarm...

Any input on which would be better in what area, and which all-round?

TY.

I would go with Prot Warrior for All around goodness. Shield Slam hits just as hard as MS right now, and the utility is great. You are just as hard to kill, however your mobility is not as good as a prot paladin of course, and you lack the ability to throw minor heals on yourself.

However, with a paladin healer, you would be unstoppable.

My final verdict:

Both have great survivability, I would give paladins the slight edge here due to healing and mobility.

Killing things goes to prot warriors. I actually am very aware when I'm ambushed by a warrior with a shield now. They put out great damage.

why would u roll a prot twink?

Because it takes 5 melee to take down one prot tank? Seriously, they are stupidly hard to kill. My 49 enhance shaman has over 1000AP and the best eq and enchant in every slot, except for the heirloom shoulders, and I can't even do enough damage to kill them without being burned down myself.

I've actually decided to make a prot pally myself, although I doubt that will be the primary spec I'll play... although paladins don't really spark my interest that much, I have one of every class thus far except for a paladin (in twink brackets or as a 70-80). Plus it'll be my first horde toon so I'm excited about that.

Prot Warrior :<

Honestly I think I enjoy healing too much so I just rolled a pally so I could have the option to do both. It's really scary running up against a prot warrior when their shield hits you for over 1k though.

Prot Warrior

Pros:

Kill things faster

More damage mitigation

Slightly better caster damage reduction (don't quote me on this one)

Prot Pally

Pros:

More HP

Heals

Better mobility

Slight utility advantage

Ones Pros is the others Cons. I have a Prot Warrior but no experience with the Pally so those are just my opinions. The 'More HP' statement becomes closer when rolling a Tauren.

Personally neither at 49, Feral Druid would easily be better then both, figure in speed, the fact I seen Druid with 6-7k AC with 6-7k hp and they can kill like no other when they don;t even have the flag.

I was going to run a twinked Prot Pally but i said screw lol, i am now ret and i just wipe the floor with any who gets in my way.

Both Pally and Warrior will have 6-7k Armor and High 5k to 6k HP. Hell I almost hit 12k HP with cooldowns then throw in a 40% chance to block, dodge, parry and a 60% damage reduction from shield wall on top of the almost 60% damage reduction from armor and 10% reduction from D stance and then try killing me. Oh and I shield slam for ~1200 and revenge for ~1000 followed by a free heroic strike for 800ish if I get my crit on.

Druids are viable as well, don't get me wrong. However don't make it sound like the other 2 classes are not.

All three are quite viable, I used to run with a druid as well, and he's pretty tough to kill. The only bad thing about druids is being caught in caster form or travel form while running flags when I get sloppy. Otherwise it's a lot of fun :)

prot warriors are ridiculous to kill, right weapon speed is definitely a major to take into consideration but imo before you roll a prot twink id make sure that your either in a nice twink guild with at least 1 decent healer or on a battlegroup with low amount of twinks if you cant find a healer. i played a 39 prot twink but not a 49 and from experience a warrior is better any day imo. tauren or orc especially.

I had a prot pally half-twinked at 39 and let me tell you, he was a freaking beast. 4k to 4.6k health (depending on buffs) was nigh unkillable.

I'm getting ready to do it again at 49 with the same toon. I'm aiming for 5k health with BoK. I'm gonna be using Thrasher Blade which I recently found out stacks with Reckoning. With Crusader. It'll be fucking sweet.

Prot is a fun way to go for pallys, if for nothing else because there's about a million ret twinkadans and you'll be uniquely tankish.

I bet you can hit 6k as a prot pally in 49s. I've got a setup that I'm currently working on that gets me to about 6k-6.5k. I'm disappointed that they're taking Titanguard away though. :(

I'm also working on a prot pally twink for the 59s as a Reckoning DPS spec. Ironfoe + Hand of Justice + Seal of Righteousness + Reckoning.

You know what? A general prot pally outline (49s) would be very helpful if you don't mind. I'd like to hit 6k, but I'm also not willing to spend a whole lot of gold (less than 500g if I can get away with it). All I'm hitting the BGs for is the get the next level of PvP plate mail rewards.

Here is the current prot pally outline I'm working with.

Add the 450 mining buff that that should put me over 6k. Even more with Blessing of Kings. I was planning to run with Titanguard, however they have currently removed it from the PTR (of course with no explanation whatsoever).

The hardest part will be the Coffer runs in BRD. I also might plan on running with Ring of Saviors instead of Deadman's Hand... a 1%ish proc rate isn't really that good.

Taitaih,

Feel like noob for asking but I must know...how do you get the 'of the <Animal>' to show up in sandbox mode?

Ah, actually you can't unless you upload someone else's profile. I tend to find one that has the random enchant that I like and then build off of that.
