Problem.

Hi,

I realized recently that my Battle.Net Account/Pass is the same Log-In information for my email and about everything else too. So I now realize that my Battle.Net account is highly susceptible to compromise.

Which leads me to wanting to transfer my characters off my compromise-able Battle.Net Account.

So would this work?

Battle.Net Account A

My Active WoW Account + Unactive Account

Battle.Net Account B

Trial Account (that would then be upgraded to WotLK)

Does anyone with personal experience with this issue know if I'd be able to transfer characters from My Active WoW Account to Battle.Net Account B?

If you log into Battle.Net account on World of Warcraft's website and you go to the little blue box of the top left hand side, you'll notice a link that says, "Change Password" where you can change your Battle.Net password.

Once you click the link, it will take you to your Battle.Net account. At the top under, "My Profile" there is the, "Change Password" link and click that.

Change password.

For extra protection you can buy a Blizzard Authenticator for less than $7.00 which will make your account unhackable.

If you simply don't want your Blizzard account anymore, call them up at 1-800-592-5499 and tell them your account was hacked and someone linked your account to their blizzard account. They'll happily unlink it after some information.

In theory your idea would work, as long as both accounts are under the same last and first name. But I'd rather to any of the following.

I'd change my password, but I'm afraid my account may have already become compromised.

As for Un-Linking, here's the process.

In order to remove the World of Warcraft account we require the following:

- A legible photocopy of the identification of the registered account user. Only a government issued photo ID or Birth Certificate will be accepted for the registered user. (School IDs are *not* accepted.)

- A copy of the TOU form (Blizzard Support) completed by the registered account user. Be sure to use the same email address as your Battle.net Account, so that we may merge the World of Warcraft account to the correct Battle.net account. When filling out the TOU form, you may additionally circle "Secret Question Retrieval" and we will provide you with the Secret Question Answer that was chosen upon the account's creation.

Sadly neither my account or Battle.Net are under my account, I'm pretty sure I mentioned that above.

Well I'll try it tonight, once I find a WotLK key to upgrade my Trial Battle.Net account.
