I main a disc this bracket so here's my two cents.
Check it here or in my sig if you want a reference for gear or talents or anything.
1.) any healer can be good in this bracket, disc is fotm yes but I love all the healers, hpal is good for beacon and bestow talent, holy priest is good for the stun and insta heal, sham is wicked for riptide and kiting with ghostwolf, mw is the only one that isn't that good but the soothing mist LoSing is cool along with the hot they have also roll is a nice utility. Most ppl say druid should only be fc but I q with a resto that doesn't FC and I love it. The bubble HoT comp in mid fights is really awesome. I'd rather have a resto sit mid with me than fc tbh.
2.) There's like two ways you can play disc, you can heavily focus on healing, which will get you anywhere from 150-300k healing a game. Or you can hybrid between healing and dmg. If I anticipate the fight to be long ill stick to strictly healing because the mana cost of playing hybrid is a lot. During short fights where we just pop drums and wipe them I like to apply dots to everyone for pressure, doing this is crazy important.
All the dots ticking will make your atonement heal like crazy, apply bubble to anyone that's getting low on hp and the dots will heal them fast, you may need to cast a flash heal here and there, but this will allow you to continue to smite / penance enemies for extra damage and pressure.
3.) You can use mouse over macros, addons, healbot, battlegroundenemies, focus macros and such. I don't use healbot or many addons besides battlegroundenemies because I have healing experience and don't need healbot to keep my team up.
4.) I tend to always use bubble and penance on cd in fights, it can easily be a life saver. My rotation on healing heavy fights is just spam flash heal, maybe keep a dot or two up but not too many because the casting of SWP costs lots of mana, and be sure to cast penance and bubble on cd as much as possible. If you want to be a more of a hybrid keep dots up and bubble anyone and let atonement heal them.
Idk if a F2P can obtain these but
Big Bronze Bombs stuns and are usable in bgs along with
Portable Bronze Mortar. Big Bronze Bombs are a cast where as Portable Bronze Mortar are insta cast.
If you can't get those I suggest qing with mages, locks, rogues, or 29 druids often, without speed pots a disc priest has pretty much 0 mobility so having a mage for frost nova and poly, lock for fears, outlaw rogue for stun locks, or a druid for roots as peels is a must have.
If you have any other questions or want tips like holy swapping for 10 extra int and or anything feel free to add my btag and I can try to help you with shit, and if you're Alliance I can q with you and get you premades n such.
