Prediction: Gear List for 2Handed Plate DPS!

Well, since a lot of the Cataclysm stats mysteries have basically been squared away with, I thought I'd throw my two cents on the board about what BiS could look like come 4.0.3a. This is basically open for criticism/discussion, so feel free to provide what you will.



Helmet: If not Helm of Exile - Item - World of Warcraft (Like LotV below, use only when in need of hit rating!), Then certainly Polished Helm of Valor - Item - World of Warcraft (With the following stats @ 39: 13 Str, 19 Stam, 8 Crit, 8 Hit).



Necklace: Either Medal of Courage - Item - World of Warcraft or the new Chain of Lethon - Item - World of Warcraft should that become grandfathered.



Shoulders: Polished Spaulders of Valor - Item - World of Warcraft



Back: Worn Stoneskin Gargoyle Cape - Item - World of Warcraft (With the following stats @ 39: 7 Str, 11 Stam, 4 Crit, 4 Haste), still TBD for challengers (Exalted rep capes, such as http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/64887/cape-of-darnassus/, may be superior due to the TBC enchantable status.)



Chest: Polished Breastplate of Valor - Item - World of Warcraft or Blood-Tinged Armor - Item - World of Warcraft (all about preferance.)



Wrist: Either Revelosh's Armguards - Item - World of Warcraft w/ 20 AP, or Skullplate Bracers - Item - World of Warcraft



Hands: Cragfists - Item - World of Warcraft with 10/11 Bear (Enchanting with hit if necessary)



Waist: To be determined. Could be http://cata.wowhead.com/item=6742, or http://cata.wowhead.com/item=13117 once again.



Legs: Either Legguards of the Vault - Item - World of Warcraft((EDIT, only should be used in dire lacks of hit rating!)), Elemental Rockridge Leggings - Item - World of Warcraft, or Polished Legplates of Valor - Item - World of Warcraft (Stats still TBD)



Feet: With any luck, Revelosh's Boots - Item - World of Warcraft with 9/8 Bear



Rings: Antique Myrmidon's Signet - Item - World of Warcraft (With the following stats @ 39: 7 Str, 11 Stam, 4 hit, 4 Crit) for slot 1, And Tumultuous Ring - Item - World of Warcraft with 7/7/7 Soldier



Trinkets: Arena Grand Master - Item - World of Warcraft and Inherited Insignia of the Horde - Item - World of Warcraft, Nothing new yet. Situation trinkets won't be covered here, but as many as possibly obtainable would be a good place to start.



Axe:If MMO-Champion`s Database is right: http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/9425/pendulum-of-doom/. if Wowheads right, then http://www.wowhead.com/item=42943. If the same top end applies, then humans might want to keep http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/9418/stoneslayer/ on the table for the Expertise from Swords.



Ranged: http://www.wowhead.com/item=29202, or something else TBD.

dont play 39 anymore but i cant see how legguards of the vault would trumph elemental rockridge or pending valor since they're both str based. only way LotV would be better is if you are DYING for 10 hit rating imo...sad to see ERL drop to 39 too, guess 49s will be rocking BoAs now that our sweet legs got knocked down to yall

Mind that AGI is worth exactly nothing for any STR users anymore now, thus any AGI on any Item you take into consideration (like Helm of Exile, or LotV) can be viewed as worthless, thus leading them having loads of wasted stats.

You might want to look for better alternatives.

Made a few notes on Helm of Exile and LotV, but I kept them in there due to their hit rating (Hey, if guides keep Baelog's Shortbow - Item - World of Warcraft as alternatives, I don't see why these shouldn't be included as transition pieces or for dire lacks of hit.)

agility is still crit, like it's always been for str based users. however agi converts to less crit than it did pre 4.0 so while it is more useless since the patch, they aren't "worth exactly nothing". for example the LotV are still a good alternative if you are desperate for hit rating while also picking up 15 agi (for crit/dodge...no longer grants armor, at least for dr00ds). but on the whole str basted users ARE better off with str based gear since thats how they get their AP. but just to reiterate, agi gear isnt worth nothing and can be useful if there are no other good options

Kay, then I have missed smth.



I always had the impression that with cata coming for STR Users, STR will provide 2 AP and Agi nothing, while for AGI users, Agi will provide 2AP per point, and STR nothing.

Wasnt aware that Agi still does provide Crit.

At the moment, as sad as it is, I'm going to add Stonefist Girdle - Item - World of Warcraft to the list. The stats are at least commendable in the bracket.

i cant figure out what gloves to use till i can use my cragfists of the bear (yeah. got them on my first run).. my random dungeon reward gloves of the soldier (7/7/7) seem to be the best until cata.

any suggestions on gloves?
