Possible first hint at new enchant level req system?

Enchanting

* Enchant Weapon - Blood Draining *New* - Permanently enchants your weapon to sometimes grant Blood Reserve when striking an enemy or inflicting damage with bleed attacks. When you fall below 35% health, Blood Reserve restores 1750 to 2250 health. This enchantment requires the wielder is at least level 75.

who knows!

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Executioner

Binds when picked up

Requires Enchanting (375)

Use: Teaches you how to permanently enchant a melee weapon to occasionally ignore 840 of your enemy's armor. Requires a level 60 or higher item.

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Deathfrost

Binds when picked up

Requires Enchanting (350)

Use: Teaches you how to permanently enchant a melee weapon to cause your damaging spells and melee weapon hits to occasionally inflict additional Frost damage and slow the target. Requires a level 60 or higher item.

These types of requirements are not new. They just apply to player levels instead of item level.

I'm not following you. The ones you listed are phrased differently, and thus work differently. There is a lvl 60 dagger than lvl 49s can get and can put deathfrost on it and it works atm. However, for wotlk, in patch 3.0 Blizzard added a new mechanic to some enchants (namely ring enchants and the other item buffs that are bop to professions) that made them require the character wearing them to have something rather than the item enchanted to be at a certain level.

This does seem to be a new method, and I'm curious to see how far they take it. It has good potential, but could also be messed up. =/

You're not so stupid enough that you can't follow this. You know exactly what this is about so don't try and make me out to be the one that introduced quantum physics to the caveman.

At some point developers realized that enchants would be OP at 35. So they did the item requirement. Now they're taking it to a player level requirement so it's not as equally OP.

You're not confused by tool tips and you do follow me. Feigned ignorance is lying :D.

Don’t be so asinine, this type of restriction has not been used for enchants before therefore it is a new system of restricting enchants. The affect that this system could have on twinks was described clearly by Jadyn, and your implying that “These types of requirements are not newâ€￾ is inaccurate.

The difference between the new and old level requirements is that the new ones are retroactive. So I'd say yes, these requirements are new precisely because they apply to player level instead of item level. =P

I don't think any twink made the leap in their head from item level requirements to character level requirements until now.

where they are going, simple.... they wanna give proffession a goal to be learned for.

if you have to have a certain proffession to gain something and you have to keep it, then clearly you'lll think twice before learning it. makes the game works better and makes all proffession worth it at their own points !
