Okay folks so we're rapidly approaching TC17 time and obviously there's a lot going on behind the scenes that even somefolks in the wargaming scene are not aware of, one of those things is working on the spectator client to make it perfect for the event, we believe (with the help of @Syrue) we've fixed a few of the bugs, but we need to test it tomorrow to be sure, there is no way to test this other than to actually have wargames! so i'll be organizing plebmades and spectating them so we can figure out where we stand, probably around 7 PM BH time but if there is more interest sooner than that works for me as well.
Some of you also know that the WoW esports team and dev's have seen to it that there is now a built in spectator mode, this is amazing for WoW esports as a whole but the context of the TC i had to check to see if it's available for battlegrounds, I was lead to believe it is NOT, however after doing some digging i've found the base macro used for the new built in spectator mode and it references 10v10s
"/invitespectatormatch <Team A leader battle tag> <Team B leader battle tag> <bracket: 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, 10v10> <map name>"
It's possible the information i was given about it not supporting BGs is wrong, though it might be completely accurate, i'm waiting to here back from some of the WoW esports team just to double check the info I received, if I don't hear back before games tomorrow i'll be testing that tomorrow as well, and likely I will test it anyway cuz i'm kinda OCD or w/e
Even if it IS available for BGs the BGLive addon still needs to be fixed, and tested as it offers far more information for the casters (not the viewers). In an ideal situation we would likely be using BGlive for the casters, and the built in one for the camera man.
Anyway thats just a basic summary (with more details than neccissary) of the things i'll be trying to figure out tomorrow
If I could get some help organizing them it would be greatly appreciated @saxxon @Hunnybuns @Blueprint @Ripduck (keep in mind i'm undecided about streaming them, don't want to broadcast the troubleshooting aspect of this, if things go well and i'm asked to stream and shoutcast I will, otherwise i'll leave it up to someone else, all i need to do is test this macro and the addon)
Thanks in advance guys, I know we'll get the numbers, no question, doesn't even need to be many games.
