doomspike is great but you have to be in Blackfathom Deeps (?)

Yea Im 95% sure this can't be done any more. I've done hundreds in hopes you could and no luck. Also all the comments confirming it are very very very old.

never saw any doomspike on any f2p players in 8 months to be honest

I haven't pickpocketed anything special yet, but back in the old days, I used to collect Empty Wallet - Item - World of Warcraft and give one to each of my characters. That way, whenever some random player begged me for money, I'd tell them, "Sorry, I need money too" and link them the empty wallet.
