We'll only know unequivocally when MoP is finalized - and even then it might change.

Beta numbers aren't final, just like PTR transmogrification numbers and effects weren't final. It may also scale with level. There is no definitive answer to this until it goes live.

FtP are capped @10g. Thus no pet battles for FtP (I am pretty sure that's why Blizz did put a 100g fee)

Yeah, I realize that. And ffs I know f2p is capped at 10g.

I was more commenting that a regular character starting would by no means have 100g by the time they reached level 5. I was trying to say that to make judgments about how MoP will be live versus how it is in beta is silly; if pet battles are an option for level 5s, they will likely not have such a steep price so that one can start collecting and battling pets as they level.

It's beta and most things will change.

Yeah when I saw the 100g I was like

I highly doubt they will lower the cost - after all, I think the Pet Battles were designed as a way for endgame characters to kill time/spend gold.et it makes sense for it to cost 100g (which is really pockjet change for an 85

So i dont think blizzard intended it for lower level toons to participate it, at least they won't be able to do so without investing lots of money/time.

Transmogrification on PTR flat 10g.
Transmogrification live 1g+ scaling with item level.

I don't know how many threads people need to make about "Will <insert stupid MP related question here> be available to F2P?" but literally no one knows until it goes live, at which point it is still subject to change. As for making this a gold sink, 100g is not that. Also, this is to attract noobs and I can't imagine them making it too expensive or said noobs will cry. Track pets is also 10c. A bit odd that the initial training is 100g but tracking pets is only 10c. Beta numbers are not final.
