Yeah, yea, ya.... Y'all have heard this from me before... I know. This thread isn't just to say that I am out again, it's to say that I had fun the last couple of months. I had been doing awesome at staying away from Wow. I went just over 6 months without a single log in desite having game time for 1/2 of the that time. An old friend that I played with and against since Vanilla talked me into coming back but shortly after that, he got busy with his new business. I had a good time playing with the great folks in <Pony Slaystation> instead but they started to take time off too and left me to pug with Tgod and his friends, which was also fun if the game was tough enough, which often times it wasn't. I enjoyed solo queuing more towards the end, it was much more challenging.

Bottom line, it all got boring fast. That's why I tried the P2P Lock with FTP restrictions. That's why I rolled 2 new rogues. That's why I leveled a rogue and hunter from 10-24 in the XP On bracket. I was looking for something but never found it. That's the main reason I have decided to call it quits again. I never found the fun I have been after since the 19 bracket went to shit in late WotLK.

Flame me for quitting for the umpteenth time, I don't give a fuck. I just want to give my opinions on the way out the door. Will I be back again? Odd are that I will, but I just don't see what this game can offer me anymore, so i'm hoping not. I was able to talk Blizz into canceling and refunding my gametime for the next 3 months.

I want to give a shout out to Justpwn (Jukedyo), Nitpick, Luckfiberals, Tgod, Tindare, Sways, Neon, R Prime, and others for all the fun over the last couple of months. Thanks to Tindare for inviting me to play in a 24v24 10v10 Wargame too!

I was planning one of my old style walls of text, but I really don't feel like taking the time to do it... so I will leave y'all with this...

List of my remaining twinks for the archives:

19 Druid - Made this one back when Lethal Synergy was still up and running. Was 2 chests away from AGM.
19 Priest - Made this one on Turalyon a few weeks ago for Underground but left that guild and move it to Elune to transfer my twink gear back to Elune.
19 Monk - Made this one, complete with AGM the 1st day of MOP. To this day, he still hasn't entered a BG.
20 P2P Warlock - This one was made to replace the BiS grandfathered 19 that I took to 24 back in late Cata and then moved to 20 to try something different.
20 Paladin - Was going to make this one a 20 P2P but never go around to it. I don't like playing Pally anyhow.
21 Rogue - I had a blast making this one!
24 Priest - An old 19 that I took to 24. Started as Disc, then Shadow and moved back to Disc the last night I played.
24 Warlock - This one was my 19 grandfathered Lock.
24 Warlock - This is the Shadowfang Lock.
24 Hunter - Never really retrofitted this one from Cata.
24 Druid - My 1st 24. This one was made to be a 24 from the beginning. Started out as feral and then resto, then unplayed.
24 Rogue - Just started this one last week, never finished it.
24 Paladin - Took it's BoA gear to another server.
39 Warlock - My old 39 warlock complete with gear he shouldn't have equipped and many TCG items wasted.
70 Druid - My pride and joy duing a 6 month period of playing. I played this toon exclusively from 1-70 for the 70 bracket. He was 1 cheive from Battlemaster on his own (prior to merged cheives)
70 Shaman - Never really finished this one.
85 Druid - My original character. Been a farm toon for last 2-3 years. Has almost every twink enchant available. Was going to make an 85 twink, but never finished up.

My favorite memories in Twinking:

1. Back when BC came out, I rolled my 1st Warlock twink, the original BELF Drayner. After getting all geared and chanted up, I got into a WSG with a friend, Mypain. Before the game started, I had a rogue from another server belittling me and saying I wasted my time and gold making a warlock twink. I didn't say anything, but Mypain said... sit back and watch. I proceeded to destroy the alliance team. I had top kills, damage, returns and even a cap. Before the 3rd cap, Mypain said something to that rogue and he didn't reply... he just AFK'd.
2. The Dominate vs MTU Rivalry. The official final tally while I was a member of MTU was 1-1. Anarcan might disagree, but Slyfox knows what's up. :)
3. Moving my lock from Vengeance to Vindication and making a name for myself under my 1st fake name, GotDots.
4. The <Team Vengeance> infiltration. Very few people will understand this so no elaboration.
5. Early Wrath, getting a couple 19 twinks 450 Herbalism and 450 Skinning. Lots of time was spent on this... and a few months later, having to beg GMs to delevel them from 450 to 225 so I didn't have to relevel from 1-225.
6. The early days of the <Twink Info> guild project, before the elitists started to come over and whine that I was putting the most enthusiastic 10 on the field instead of the "Best 10". Even though we lost 75% of the 20+ premades we played that summer, it was super fun for me!
7. Playing a couple premades (winning both) incognito with <Fishing Buddies>.
8. The time I spent incognito in Halfbreed's battegroup as Lokdtite. Halfbreed, even though he was an idiot hunter, was fun to against. A game within the game.
9. The times I played secretly and got positive comments and ginvites... until people found out who I was. Funniest story was in late wrath when I was playing a 19 lock on horde side and Mocha (who I barely knew then) kept sending me PMs during WSGs asking if I was Drayner. There was no reason or hints that I was, but somehow he knew. I don't think I ever admitted it then either.
10. Looking back, the best part of twinking to me (which covers the whole Vanilla to Wrath Era) was planning out gearing process to skimp on Xp, fishing, and generally finishing out a 19 twink. I think I had more fun making twinks than actually playing them.

My 19 Bracket Dream Team:

If we could roll back Azeroth to BC again and I could assemble a guild, these are the players I would love to have join it. They are my favorite people in this game.


  • Groba/Llonah - the Co Guild Leader of MTU, my 1st and favorite twink guild.
  • Sidni/Laycee - the Co Guild Leader of MTU, my 1st and favorite twink guild.
  • Mypain - The guy that is responsible for guiding me from being a good semi-twink druid to a full fledge 19 twink addict.
  • Lucid - The best 19 rogue I have ever played with or against.
  • Nitpick - My favorite dude in the twinking world.
  • Slyfox - My 2nd favorite dude in the twinking world.
  • Mazurati - Great friend in twinking
  • Torkd - Fun guy to play with in Vindy
  • Tombrady - Great player that MTU could never get to roll a toon for us.
  • Vegansown - Always wanted to twink with him, but couldn't transfer a toon to play with because of the whole PVE to PVP server thing... something most people forgot about.
  • Kidneypopper - Even though we battled verbally in forums, he respected my play and I respect his.
  • Bebetta - Fun guild leader of <Causa Mortis> when I played with them.
  • Purj - Great Shammy. We had a misunderstanding at one time, but after I explained myself, we're all good now.
  • Painaid - This guy has his head screwed on straight! Ever since the days when I decided to create the <Twink Info> guild on Medivh in Ruin, he's been a great friend.
  • Sleyin - Good Peoples... he and his wife both.
  • Morroes - awesome guy!
  • Justpwn - great player, great guy.
  • Laurasia - best attitude in the game today!!!
  • To be continued... I'm forgetting a few people I am sure!

Well. MVP or not, good player or not, I really wasn't playing the 19 bracket.

And... I am not an MVP nor a Legend. I am just a dude that played 19s way longer than I should have.

The reason I don't like 19s right now is the style of play that happens. I have whined about it before, but I am not interested in standing around midfield casting for 20 minutes straight.. well aside from the occasional run from the GY back to the group. This and too many druids.

Good luck to you. I wish u guys could be more like me and just play 4-5 hours a week so you never get burnt out and have a fun 50 cent a day hobby to relax with after a hards day work etc. Thats what twinking is all about to me. After initial gearing you are set no marathon grinds for new gear.

Drayner just roll a f2p on Alex phron needs a healer keep his f2p arms warrior up on Alexstrasza. Plus I can give u rides on passenger mounts. Invitation is there if you want to roll a hordie on Alexstrasza. Could use a healer contact me if you want to pick me up on my offer :)

Thanks. If I decide to play again, this is something I might consider, but right now... it's not in the cards.

Just in case anyone got the wrong idea with my recent, "I'm too poor to play Wow" trolling, it was just that... trolling. My decision to walk away again has nothing to do with finances. Hell, when I returned 2 months ago, I spent $55 x5 getting my 24s to Elune Alliance from Zul'Jin Horde. It's definitely not money! :)

it's some how not all that surpriseing to me to see you leaving again, being a member here for so long and seeing you come and go reminds me a bit of myself, the motivation and interest comes and goes.

I can not speak for others, but in this particular case, I made the post to have a place to document/archive some of the things I love/loved about twinking. I don't have a place to unload those memories (my own blog, etc) anymore and was feeling nostalgic.

Will I come back again? Probably. Do I want to? No. When I leave the game for an extended period of time (and I mean when I really leave, not just drop into the shadows playing an alt) and come back, the time I stay back is getting shorter and shorter. This stint only lasted 2 months.
