EU+US Patch 6.2: WSG Fence Imbalance

Recluse

Grandfathered
WSG is an imbalanced game, without question. It is heavily favored Horde, and this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Since patch 6.2, fence posts have been added to each teams GY to prevent GY farming. While this could be considered a success, it has opened a door for quick access to the Horde flag room, straight from their GY....

As Horde rogue, I accept death as an advantage. An unsuccessful mid clash can in fact help me defend my flag. This GY jump allows me quick access to ramp, top of tunnel, and flag room. Such advantage provides Horde a strategically dominant position in WSG, one that has only been around for a short period of time.

The Alliance do not have the same luxury. Their fence is restrictive, while Horde is open. A ToT jump does exist, but is much slower and harder to avoid combat with. The WSG Fence Update in 6.2 has given crutch for Horde, such a major crutch that the imbalance extends even to the map itself.

You can jump from ally GY to ramp as well. And the ground level to top of tun is not that hard on alliance side.

I agree that horde side jumps are generally easier, but this can be an advantage for alliance as well; if horde fc is sitting top tun, you'll reach him faster, and alliance fc's can do fence jumps on horde side to reach mid faster.

Speaking of ramp fence jumps, these are, in my oppinion, the most imbalanced jumps in WSG; alliance side don't have the ability to cross fence from ramp to ToT. At least not that I know of.

I'm a firm believer in not doing any GY jumps.

Recently picking up Wargaming, even though we did hard in the 20s bracket, there is no point in getting comfortable doing them. Seeing how they are not usable in premades. I try not to use / practice what can't be done.
Pretty sure he was talking about pugs, and afaik not too many premades happening in the 20-29 bracket?

Fence didn't do shit for gy camping lmao

It would help if you could escape the camping.. Alliance just need a similar route like Horde has

Fence jumps arent the problem. The people that abuse speed potions on cooldown is the problem
