Non tbc account with wotlk?

I had an idea, what if you could buy and register a new non-tbc account and add wotlk to it? is that possible? Like having a death knight at max level 60? I dont know if you have to have TBC to be able to add WOTLK. Anyone knows?

I'm fairly sure that you need to have BC on your account before wotlk will apply, but don't quote me on that >.>

you have to have TBC - trust me, I know because i have only 2 classic wow accounts with no tbc and i can't put lich on it

and because of that you have to spend almost 100 euro on wow to buy it now making it the most expensive game ever

Yes you must have BC before you can get LK, it even says it on the box

Not only is it required, I'm pretty sure they've merged vanilla and bc. I bought two additional vanilla accounts recently (and no I didn't buy the battlechest), and automatically had BC on both.
