EU+US No phasing in Gurubashi Arena?

Anyone else noticed that it is impossible to phase to another server in Gurubashi Arena now, or am I tripping? I've tried spam joining different groups with Cross Realm Assist (addon). I've also had a friend make DK's on two different servers, of which one of them was a Spanish server. Still wasn't getting phased. This made AGM farming considerably aids if you are on a remotely active server.

With patch 7.0.3 Blizzard changed the way you transfer from realm to realm when joining a cross realm group. In patches 6.2.4 or prior, there was a global group transfer, where you would change your realm depending on the current realm of the party. If a group was on Sunstrider realm and you joined that group, you would be transferred to the Sunstrider if you’re not in combat.

As Garrosh said to Gul’dan: “Times change.” With Legion release there’s a new rule: the first person from the party, who enters the zone, will mark that zone for its player’s realm.

What that means:

  • Zones are now independent and you change realms in there depending on its current flag. Flag is put once a player is in a group and enters a zone. Flag is being removed when all players leave that zone.
  • You’ll be transferred if you’re in a zone, and you join a party with a player already in that zone.
  • You’ll be transferred if you enter the zone’s by crossing its border and there’s already a player from your group in that zone.
  • You’ll NOT be transferred if you enter zone if no other player from your party is there.
  • Even if you’re not a leader, if you were the only person from the group in the zone and another player from that group comes to that zone, he will be transferred to your realm, since you’re the first person, who entered that zone while in a group.

Edit: they're not too hard solo.

Thanks for the very informative answer. Just made AGM so much more annoying to get now. Guess I'll just have to do night time only and hope for the best. Sometimes I can drop down large toy, walk inside it, and loot chest from there without them noticing. #bads. Anywyas, yeah, sucks. :(

Very nice and informative reply!

I guess, if you are going to be farming a lot of AGM's you could get a bunch of DK's from different servers out of the starting zone (idk if there is any other way than simply questing) and then place them in STV

DKs can't get out of their starting zone early anymore. You just need to do the 1 hour of quests.

Did not blizzard say something like we will be able to try lvl 100 characters for few hours before buying lvl 100 boost to test them out? If yes, it should be possible to create max lvl character, go to STV and realm hop...

Cool, do you have a link to that?

The feature is Called Class Trials:
  • Class Trials will allow players to try various characters at level 100 as a part of a limited tutorial experience within the Broken Shore and allows players to play beyond the tutorial portion to experience the class through to acquiring their Artifact weapon. The short tutorial experience will focus on teaching many of the class’ core abilities. Players can apply a boost token at any time to keep the character they used during the Class Trial.
