New Map List for Queue Nights: Saturday - WSG/AB, Wednesday - SSM/TP

Boostz

Boostz or Boots
Title.

So it looks like SSM is here to stay and I'd like to keep that going. BfG has potential but overall in pug games is decided far too early so is being cut for now.

This Saturday we are going to be queueing AB/WSG. I will be moderating it very closely on the chance the blizzard queue system has a tantrum over a 15v15/10v10 dual queue. If it looks like we're getting nil pops we'll go back to wsg/tp.

This Saturday test will decide if we make Wednesday Night our maps AB/SSM from now on. I am just testing it on a weekend because that's most likely to get pops.

If you're wondering why I've ignored eots, it's because it's very much a disliked map by the majority, and I think we could have enough to get away with an AB and WSG at once on the weekend, but I very much doubt we could do 2x 15v15 maps at once.

Will review after this weekend.

I think the CTF maps should all be on 1 day cause thats the day the FCs que their fc toons, let SSM and AB be on 1 day

That makes sense. I still want to test a 15/10 person dual queue on our 'main' queue day first at least.

Cause the high amount of revives on liking CTF maps that should stay on the peak day(saturday) and the tests can be on the wednesday

Hopefully eventually the bracket is large enough for 3 days a week so we can have EOTS/AB, WSG/TP and SSM/BfG

Well if people want that ofc we can do votes.

I'd appreciate if we keep the testings of maps on Wednesdays, as Saturday is the most active day of the week. :)

At the same time, for testing a new 15 man game mode, you want as many people queuing as possible.
It's a double edged sword, but it is a good idea for testing.
In the long term, ctf on Saturday, other maps on Wed is a good idea though.

I respect what you're saying, but I disagree.

We had 2 games going at one point yesterday (wednesday), so the amount of players needed shouldn't be an issue on Wednesdays.

That is true. If we play a 15 player map on Wednesday, we will likely only have one game at a time. If we do it on Saturday, we can try to get two games to pop at the same time. Also, afaik this is only a one-Time thing to test, and not a permanent situation.

I believe that having 2 games on Wednesday isn't relevant.

2 games only occurred once, the people where missing games, might as well have 15 man games on Wednesday and let the 2+ games on Saturday.

FCs aren't worthless on SSM/AB. Just bring a set to heal with. I like the idea of having one of each both nights. CTF matches can be repeated blowouts, while domination keeps scores closer until the end. We can expect less rage-quits.

The 15 man should be on Saturday and here's why: We should never accept one-BG-at-a-time-Wednesday's (or Saturday for that matter) as the norm. Last night was a bit slower, but that can be expected given this is the week after Labor day in the US (traditionally marking the end of Summer). Lots of school/fall activities are starting up, and people will have to figure out how to work gamenights into their schedule. I'm confident simultaneous games will return next Wed, especially with TP instead of BfG. Saturday can absolutely support a simultaneous 10 & 15, and likely a 15 & 15.

I feel like the response wasn't terribly favourable ally side to either map last night. The chat was riddled with 'fuck these retarded maps, everyone queue wsg/tp'. The horde ally disparity really needs to be addressed above all else at this time I think. Map choices don't matter much when one side is routinely getting dunked on.

alliance last night had a fundamental issue with actually knowing how to play the game-modes. many claimed it was a teamspeak issue albeit teamspeak helps with communication, but the basic map awareness for alliance and positioning overall was pretty horrendous.

i mean 1 map we had our only 2 healers try to ninja cap a point off the start leaving our entire team without heals.. things like that happened all night not to mention just being short on healers in general.

gratz for noticing things? im not sure what point this post had... alliance needs better players qing and im not going to name names but anybody that played horde all night the last couple game nights when they have alliance toons is directly contributing to the early downfall of the bracket and poor morale currently hanging over the alliances heads, how much longer do you people think games are going to last if alliance keeps winning only 1 or 2 games a night, every night?

If you are speaking about Alliance lacking heals, I have been unable to play the last two designated nights. My wife has been ill.
I may be able to make it this Saturday evening though for a few games on my shaman.

hope she gets better allybeboba but im referring to mainly the heals we did have. 3 maps in a row we had healers afk out. by the end of the night we ended up with 3 disc priests finally but i think other than the 2 resto shams we had our healers just didnt really show up that much. My cousin is making a disc priest atm so he'll be geared so hopefully he'll be on to help that issue a bit.
Fcftw was just in response to "alliance getting dunked on all night"

it's like the alliance have been playing twinks in wsg/ab for so long that they forgot how to play the higher level bgs completely lol.
