New Hangout for F2P

Even if everyone here comes to an agreement that Shatt should be the place to hang out, people will still come to BB or Gurubashi more often than Shatt to get access to LFH/AGM and to PvP against their own faction and the opposite faction.

The type of person that doesn't have much time to play F2P will be less likely to attempt to get AGM and, outside of the fishing tournament, there's not much else there. The type of person to have the dedication to get AGM will have the time to travel there should they want to. As it is now, not many people are there because of the inconvenience. Seems to me that a sanctuary like Shattrath would make gathering groups for arenas easier and allow the players that aren't focusing on AGM to stay somewhere close to other important locations.

When I log in on alliance side, there are more people in Stormwind than Gurubashi. Could be the time of day I can log in.

For those looking for a way to get to Shattrath, it's possible to walk through the portal within the Blasted Lands and walk the rest of the way. Died very little traveling there on foot. If you're on alliance, whisper me on Spryless and I'll try to ask mages in town to get you a port.

i like the idea of shatt, but disagree with this logic. not that i'm currently farming the AGM as i'm waiting until i've done all the quests, BUT the last time i got AGM i just parked my toon at the arena and logged in once a day at 5:55am.

...which will be my MO on this toon. i'm pretty casual and when i'm only logging in to run a dungeon or do a BG, i'm definately going to be parked at the arena for my 6am checks...until I get the AGM, at which point i'll be moving my hearth back to Shatt.

People have been suggesting Shattrah since the dawn of F2P, but to be honest, aside from the possibility of running into other F2Ps, there is nothing to be done in Shattrah (and it's a total ghost town). The more serious twinks will continue to show up at Gurubashi Arena, and this will continue to be the best place for players of Alliance and Horde to meet. All the 2v2 arena wargames have also occurred at Gurubashi Arena. While the idea of Shattrah is nice, the reality is that most players will continue to gather at Gurubashi Arena.

Other reasons for Gurubashi Arena include it's location near the fishing tournament, ease of farming Silk Cloth (and possibility at Hyacinth Macaw), etc. There is just much more to be done by F2P in this area, as we cannot even do any of the dailys offered in Shattrah, and not even any interesting players to inspect. As mentioned, even dueling in Shattrah is a problem due to aggroing high level mobs outside the city.

I feel like Mrcer repeating myself in every sentence :p.

Well just like people always gather in goldshire. Those people who have the hearthstone set to shath would be able to dedicated a special day. Like a holiday, where ALL the f2p meet in an area in shat and just duel/group/Roleplay/etc

still, i believe Guru will be the spot for sometime.

Nagrand arena is usually more empty then guru. idk why we cant just turn pvp on there and have fun

you guys all talk like its one big party at gurubashi. only time theres a 20 there is AGM time.

Shattrath has both the flight path and a ground exit to nagrand, which facilitate picking up halaani whiskey. It takes a trip through the dark portal and a 2g flight to get there otherwise; since shatt also has a port to org/sw I find it best to keep my hearth in shatt.

Not that I disagree about STV being the better f2p hangout, but there is definitely a reason to go to shatt.

^I agree.

I am just saying that even if everyone agrees that shatt is the place to hang out...people will still go to gurubashi arena more often than there.

I used to have my hearth set in Shattrah, but found it annoying as I would always have to port to SW after hearthing in order to do anything. Also was annoying constantly having to run from the portal room in SW. The reason you see so many Alliance in Stormwind is that there's actually things to do there such as the Fishing daily. I don't care enough about Halaani Whiskey to continually fly there to pick it up (you can only hold 3 at a time). I am fine using Rumsey Rum Black Label, which by the way you can also fish up in STV, and can store as many as you like in your bags.

^This pretty much covered everything =)

This can actually be seen as a good thing, as not only does it provide a common meeting area for Horde and Alliance, but also times when to meet up. A lot of people show up for AGM, but then end up staying for duels and wargames.

Eh one thing thats bothering me why is no one mentioning the free for all arena in nagrand? It's actually one of the better arena maps, and there is NEVER anyone there to gank you, on top of that the mobs there are half yellow, and so far away from that arena they don't matter anyway.

Exactly my point. We should try Nagrand. Lets have a FFA nagrand fight. The last FFA guru fight was pretty fun.

In my opinion shatt as a good place, sure it may get annoying to have to run to the portal, and from the place you port, but the whiskey looks to bee pretty nice, 200 health is a big boost. Buy the whiskey, join wsg, buy more whiskey, join wsg, buy more while your doing nothing but pvp.

What is the drop rate on the rumsey rums when fishing?

I think I was able to get mine once every 3 times?
