New AB strategy for Twink BGs? (Jaddyn's idea from old)

So yeah; we've discussed in the Bloodlust forums how WSG will now be a "cap the first flag then turtle" race with the new rule changes and time limit.



We've also been discussing the possibility of AB being the new game of choice for the upcoming twink-only battlegrounds (even though they're lowering the resource "win" amount from 2000 to 1600).



The new strategy (mentioned by the almighty Jadyyn a long time ago) would be to ignore all other nodes, and fight for BS only, or even ignore all flags and simply have a free-for-all at BS (or across the entire map).



I guess we can try this in the PTR (if the twink-only queues are implemented then).



Any thoughts?
 
Yea I don't quite understand it either. It's just FFA, a few lone rogues could stealth and capture anywhere you aren't.
 
I'd like to see a big battle over 1 node for once with decent players. Not just the usual 10 players fighting over stables/farm. Could be interesting!

Sort of a mini-AB. I think that could be a lot of fun, doable with premades. If premades are capable of deciding not to use certain things like Magic Dust, they're certainly capable of making all flags except the BS off limits.

This game would take hours.



Edit: Actually, if both teams were evenly matched they'd keep stealing the flag before it gets captured, they'll keep assaulting and it's a neverending circle.

It would make for great team coordination practice. :)

We're talking twink premade vs twink premade here. Why not play it the old way then? I know everyone hates AB due to PuG's, but premade vs premade it's one of the best battlegrounds.
 
The "fight over BS" game was sort of a meta game that could be played in AB. It was an idea to have a fun long game of King of the Hill in AB between two 15 man teams. It was hard to set up and I dont think we ever got to play one sucessfully. You would have to get 2 teams that knew not to touch the other nodes and just fight over BS, any puggers could easily ruin it. This may become easier to set up now that there will be twink only BG's.
 
If it's "King of the Hill" it should be LM we're fighting over, not BS.
 
That wasn't a strategy, it was an idea to have fun by playing the game in an unusual way. =P Oh, and if you're going to tag a thread with my name, could you spell it right? =P

Isn't that the proper spelling of one of your 23,230,491 twink names?



Well, this "king of the hill" idea may be the new PM strategy of choice, given the new WSG rules. Twenty minutes blows.



Any plan on coming back to twinking, good sir?

I actually never used two d's in any of my names. >.>



And I uninstalled WoW about a month ago, so... no. I nearly failed my classes last semester, and only stopping wow, and working my ass off for the last month managed to get me a 2.0. If I completely destroy my classes in the fall, I might try playing again a bit next winter, but that's a pretty big "might".

Of all the possible combinations of your name, I had to choose the one you don't actually use. Bah.



I'd offer to do all your homework if it meant you rejoining Bloodlust and smacking some sense in to the new batch of epeen bads that have cropped up, but the responsible adult in me just flykicked me in the balls.



You're a smart guy; do well in school and come back. We fricking neeed you in the face of impending 3.2 changes.

At the very least, I'm not giving up my love of gaming in general, so if the general community continues (ie bloodlust vent community), maybe we can hang out and play other games in the future too. Post-WoW, I'm finding playing games alone like I used to just doesn't cut it. It'd be nice to have some people to play with sometime in the future.
