Need help with gear for a 69 Hunter

Hey all, if you read my last post I'm making a 69 twink Hunter.



Any pimped out Hunters out there I can check out your armory and see what gear I need to get??



I'm hearing that i'm gonna need some Engineering pieces and a bit of quest rewards.

Ok, i've been using the WoWhead thing but none of the items are acurate.



For instance:



Durable Worghide Cape

195 Armor

Hit +12

Crit +16

AP +60



Then I look on Thott and WoWikki and it says



84 Armor



All the other stats the same.



Found the same thing with many of the items on WoWhead.



Any reason why? Is that site just wrong?

What I would do but Id rather go to the 79 bracket and have 525engineering in catacylsm and have Cata greens/blues with cata gems and rape lol70s. :p

can those actually be resisted?

saw now comments on wowhead that said they could be resisted so gear spell pen. explosive shot is not dispellable but black arrow is...so perhaps one is able to be resisted and one isnt?
 
Anything that deals magical school damage other than holy is subject to damage reduction from resistance. Frost/freezing traps aren't affected by spell penetration (bug?) which is probably why there's that talent in surv, but all other hunter abilities that deal magic damage (arcane shot, stings, explosive shot, immol/explosive traps, black arrow) are.



That said, the highest resistances you're likely to encounter in 69 besides shadow resist (irrelevant to hunters) is 35 from kings/motw, so it's not advised to gear past that.



And for the record - enchanting 22 agi to cloak instead of 35 spell pen will not make up for the damage lost.
 
black arrow is shadow so it isnt irrelevant if you have that, but surely not suggested to waste gems/enchants on spell pen past 35 just for one move
 
I only know about the numbers for 80... but before 4.0.1 you wanted to be at 75 Spell Pen for PvP. Black Arrow, Serpent Sting and Explosive Shot can all have their damages resisted.

Huh, ok. Always thought it was fire for some reason.
 
Couple of questions about 69 huntard.



1) What benefits do you get from maxxing Inscription, apart from the uber shoulder enchant?

2) And are these the only other shoulder enchants available if I don't become a scribe?

You can get some ZG enchant if you can do that before ZG is removed but its only like 10stamina 10ap or someshit



so yes scribe is teh best.

kk thanks sober .... quite costly but the difference is simply too big to resist :p
 
I'm guessing if you're choosing inscription then it's as your second profession, with engineering as your first. It might be worth considering LW/JC as that second profession instead.



If you get LW high enough you can get the Leg Reinforcements (level 80 leg enchants) and then drop it for a different profession, whilst they stay active.

If you choose to drop it you can then pick up JC for an extra 42 agi (that's about 101 AP and lots of crit if you're BM or Survival, with armor specialization factored in too).

If you're not dropping LW, then it still provides 80AP 10agi and 15stam (including the Jormungar Leg Reinforcements). That ends up being around 104ap + 15stam + crit after BM/Survival base talents and armor spec.).



With inscription you can only except to gain 94ap + 15crit if using the honored Scryers/Aldor enchants (or just 90ap + 15crit if you'd otherwise be using the ZG shoulder enchants).
