Need gear guide lvl39 retadin

hey guys. As the title says. I’m building a level 39 paladin (ret) Twink. Can I get some advice on gearing? Let me know what you think BIS is in each slot. More comments the better of things you guys can think of.

I have some ideas but I would like to see what you guys recommend

He's talking about the updated bloodtinged armor / champions medal in his post. They're not very good until after the update that makes them rare.

I also think agility is super overrated for warrior / shaman / paladin, but that is a different debate.

Why do you say that? Auto Attack is the majority of a 39's damage. Meaning PoD getting put to work and it itself doing the damage. whats more pure than that? Warriors rend/hamstring heroic strike are all modifiers, but paladin swinging that big old stick around, just pure Bad Ass, if you ask me.

Im very new to twinking a paladin, yet alone a ret pally, but i think owning someone with auto attack will be so fun!

A singular auto attack that has a 4.0 sec CD? with no gap close? or slow? no overpower? Good luck actually ever getting to swing it.

I throw around a lot of hate on these forums for ret paladins only from my experience on p servers. Ret paladin is literally that class everyone jerks too on paper until they actually play it and see how annoying and underwhelming it is. It's built fully on rng with the most limited dps kit in the game.

If you want to be useful as a paladin at 39 my suggestion is to go 12/18/0 and pair with a good dps rogue or lock or mage. If you wana go dps play a warrior. You'll thank me later after the 100th death to a frost mage who just kites you to oblivion.

1% crit vs 7stam 12ap

Personally, I think stamina/hp is the best stat for fighting other twinks, which, imo, are the only fights that you should be worried about. Pure agil is going to be better for noob stomping.

Your dps/burst is going to be higher/more consistent with agil / crit.
Your damage done before dying is going to be higher with str / stam.

Higher str is going to give you bigger crits, too.

No gap closer, no slow, the weakest CC in-game (HoJ), no viable way to break roots in bgs (freedom should be cast on rogue or warrior and not yourself). If you're serious about objectives in WSG, you're gonna be chasing travel form druids a lot in 39s. HoJ can be trinketed and you have no real way of catching up. Unless you're duo queueing with a warlock or rogue you're gonna need to position yourself very wisely to ever get time on a relevant target
