This is just going to be a bunch of organized thoughts on how we could create twinks on a selected realm without using BoA's and a set of rules within a guild to play wargames and have our own version of old school twinking again.
Note: If you don't like the idea I understand, just no trolling. For supporters of this please add any comments or ideas and let's get this going asap!
Server
I created a poll and even though there were only 9 voters the realm chosen was Mal'Ganis. Mal'Ganis is a full pvp realm with lots of gear on the AH for us to buy. This is great for us for 3 reasons:
1.) Full relam could allow more support from random players with dung runs etc...
2.) PvP realm would allow us to do world PvP within a guild like we could do in Vanilla
3.) With numerous people on this realm it gives a larger chance to find BoE blues/greens on the AH which will help with different gear sets
With a small set of rules it could help create a more balanced game for us. Now, our problem is we can only remove spells, not add.
Rule 1: Spells and Abilities
All Classes: I think if we remove every talent spell such as Shadowstep, Aimed Shot, Avengers Shield, Felgaurd etc... If we do this I feel it will remove more burst from the bracket and bring some classes down a few pegs. Hunters and Pallys mostly
Side note: In order to keep balance we may need to add this talent spell back in maybe for warriors or other gimped classes, we could see how it is after we get this going then change the rules in the future. We may also need to remove more spells from a specific class to help with balance.
Healers
I think we should remove every "Flash heal" from pallys and priests. This will allow druids and shamans to be closer to them as far as heals go.
Rules 2: Gear
No BOA's. I don't think BoA's alone ruined twinking, it did help in its downfall but all it really did was increase spells, damage, and health pools. Other than that it didn't make a class OP. But, because we would be on a different realm then our mains/twinks we wouldn't have access and personally I'd rather reroll than paying the money to transfer for BoA's. IF we want, we could all just farm for them via wargames/BG's.
Rule 3: Faction and Classes
Factions
In order to have our own wargames or premade BG's we would want people to roll BOTH :Alliance: factions :Horde: Personally I'm rolling horde just cause I am most likely making a warrior and orcs are badass. But, when we get this going I think we could create guilds on both sides and have guild fights in Gurubashi and things like that. It would be great to roll both factions with two different twinks.
Classes
Hopefully, by our own attempts on creating balance this could open up doors to rolling other classes without getting steamrolled. Also, if you roll a hunter/pally I, personally, don't mind because we will just be bringing them down to par but I would like to see a different class rolled before people choose hunter/pally.
Bg's/Wargames/Arenas
These three different things could be used amongst us so we don't have to play against the other twinks cause we would easily be facerolled.
Being self-suffienct
Being on a realm without your mains will be hard but I have a few simple and small ideas to help give you a jump start.
Making a DK
Making a DK will help for a few reasons.
1.) The gold you get from the first quests as well as running a few dung's and questing in outlands will give you a nice starter boost in gold.
2.) Helping others farm for Furdbolg Medicine Puch.
3.) *IF* we use BoA's this could be a faster way to get honor then convert into JP for BoA's, this is only IF we decide to use BoA's
Professions
Professions on your twink will give you some things from gathering to sell on the AH. Low-level herbs sell very well on the AH and with a full server and multiple people starting new toons it will give a nice profit.
Working the AH
Not ganna go in depth on this one, but Ink has a few guides here on TI and Markco's 20k leveling blog/guide can also help a TON.
These are all just ideas. My hands are cramping lol so just let me know what you think and if there is anything you'd like to add to this. Please comment as well and if you support it let me know!
