Just scroll up in the 1-9 forum and read the lvl1 class and race compendium it should tell you everythng you need to know 
Hunters are the best class for both PvE and PvP. Then comes rogue. I prefer Night elf rogue, and worgen hunter
Just saying, the human's trinket is worthless because the 2min cd isn't needed in BGs for example. You get 120 more hp if you go double AGM, but shadowmeld can regen over 120hp before your opponent attacks you:3

Hunters are definitely best for PvE, but I have to disagree with Boud about hunters being the best at pvp. My rogue has never lost to any hunter, because I can survive their burst of 4-5 arcane shots as well as LoS them. The discombobulator ray will slow them down as well. Hunters are, if anything, equals to rogues in PvP.
You're wrong.. Hunters > Rogue in PvP.. I've only lost to 1 hunter on my server which is the oldest lvl 1 twink hunter on the server.. But they aren't equal!

If you're dumb and duel them on an open plain then yes, they'll beat you. If you're dueling them in an area that has LoS blocking objects like rocks and some types of trees, then you can kill their pet and they have to get either up close, or circle around in a wider range of motion.
