Monk vs Rogue or Whatever

stonevault shiv is bis for offhand iirc, if not that then there is a dagger from WPL quest that is comparable

mainhand would be either dire maul or militia hatchet depending on any weapon racials etc
 
ww monks are ok i can beat a rogue 1v1 and lose 1v1 its all about rng reather they can down u fast enough before you get op heal and chiwave off if u can keep em in combat and use cd's at the right time its not that hard now of course in a group setting you could go down very fast if others are targeting you. monk damage isnt the greatest but its not terrible on a clothie double mongoose i can get 1k+ fists of fury procs but its very rng for mongoose. Our controll is amazing a slow only for 15 energy and if u have another slow on them or cast it again they are rooted in place. Just some basic information you gotta learn when to go in and when to not which is somthing i struggle with because i feel like i can rush in there and down someone fast and end of getting blown up. overall not a bad class damage could be higher but its still nice.

What do you use OH for monk? I just picked up a Speedsteel Rapier - Item - World of Warcraft for the heck of it. but I see so much variety in weapons i'm not quite sure what is considered bis.
 
honestly there is no BiS its how u prefer to play i chose more stats than damage it depends if you would reather play sustained dps or crit rng based.
 
As stated by Syncro, BiS is determined by how you play.

If you were unaware, rogues normally end up killing the 39 bracket. Everyone wants to roll their rogue...but WW monks do have quite a bit of survival and great CC(iirc, 6 second Aoe Stun?). Your damage would not be anywhere near Overpowered at 39, but WW monks have the right abilities to make for a great 39 twink.

Try these two setups and see which two you like the most:

Sword of Decay - Item - World of Warcraft - Mainhand w/ Mongoose
Dazzling Longsword - Item - World of Warcraft - Offhand w/ Agility

or

Dire Maul - Item - World of Warcraft - Mainhand w/ Mongoose
Militia Hatchet - Item - World of Warcraft - Offhand w/ Agility

Try both of those out and see which one you like the most.
