MM on Prot War?

rsq

Legend
Hey guys,

So I've been farming chests lately trying to get MM on my prot war. It has a Seal of Sylvanas, so I feel obliged going for a max stam set. That being said... chest farming is awful, as many of you know. And rng is not the kindest to me.

SO basically I'm looking for some sort of confirmation from warrior players that, yes, MM is definitely the way to go for warrior stam swag set OR people to dissuade me and tell me that Stockade Pauldrons with their 96 more armor, 6 more strength, and 6 resilience will make me much more survivable.

Thoughts?

the stam from MM is BiS yes.

im pretty sure

Well MM is the most stam you can get on your shoulders. So yes, if you are going for full stamina go MM, but if you are going MM also be aware you might as well go Naga Battle Gloves and Bands of Serra'kis (or your choice of 5 stamina mail bracers, I say serra'kis because they are relatively easy to obtain)

Imo MM is BiS if you can get double agm, and for strictly pugging/occasional premades.

but for a serious fc set the parry jp shoulders coupled with the battlemaster trinket will pull ahead, due to the extra armor, parry, and mitigation coupled with an on demand %hp boost for tough situations.

personally i don't fc on a warrior so i'm not up to par on what would be considered truly bis, however i hope my opinion will provide some insight.

How did you only come up with 96 armor? I believe that scaled to level 24, Strengthened Stockade Pauldrons has 242 armor and Magician's Mantle only has about 65. That's 177 more armor not 96. Anyway, I'd stick with the Pauldrons because it gives you more damage mitigation to physical attacks, as well as a tiny bit of resilience to further decrease all kinds of PvP attacks. There's usually some healers on your team, and when they heal you it will be more meaningful. Always take damage mitigation into consideration over total effective health, especially when the difference isn't that big or even worth farming for.

Most of the time when fcing (especially as a warrior) you will need to be doing damage as well

Resilence doesn't scale to anything, MM is BiS, if you want to give up some armor.

Btw, I have always wanted a MM on a Warrior, good luck.

What? Resillience doesn't scale to anything? Say what? World is collapsing.

It just scales really poorly — 40% baseline resilience. Salfir in full resil gear only scales to 43% reduction in BG.

Also, it's honestly been fascinating to see the wide range of responses. It seems everyone has a different opinion. I'm now more torn than ever!

MM over BoA since the resil nerf.

No reason not to have multiple sets however.

If Resilience scales this poorly, then stamina/migitation wise MM will probably be the best pick.
