Mitigation Stacking

Stamm

Legend
In the f2p bracket stam stacking tends to be the best thing to do for tanks, but I was curious as to how viable mitigation/avoidance stacking would be, assuming one has a competent healer, or is a healer themselves. In addition I'm curious what class/spec gear sets people could come up with. There's also abilities to factor into this to.

Cheers to all you eager theory crafters out there.

Earl's gear is right though even if you don't like him as a person he was on topic.

Using Hogger's and tanking looms isn't exactly mitigation "stacking" per say... By example I mean actually show some builds, and builds of any class that can have high mitigation, not just pure tank classes.

I get to almost 30% mitigation (not including block) on my Prot Warrior (19.7% Parry + 7.58% Dodge + 3% block) and 54.55% armor.

Alliance is going to be a bit better because of Hogger's Shiny.

Almost all of the gear is going to be from BoA's, RDF rewards, and rings. (RoD and Hoggers)

For macro's I cant really think of any, playstyle wise though you are going to want to face as many targets as possible, which means strafing. If you hit wait till you just hit under 100 rage, you can shield block, shield slam, and you should be able to use another shield block right after the first goes off.

My war may or may not have his avoidance gear up when you click oldspikes link.

For my prot warrior build I went Max Armor, stam and pvp resi (now nerfted) so standard tanking boas, for the legs I use Thaelrid's greaves and the shield of the stockade, figured if and when I got the LFH I would replace the eye patch anyway.
Still need LFH , AGM (s) and the +10 stam belt

Finally stats: (with bg scaling)
2328 Hp
3060 armor (59.89%)
4.30% dodge
18.32% parry
3.00% block, using shield block will give you 100% chance to block, reducing physical dmg by 30% for 6 sconds
42.44% pvp resi,
Defensive stance reduces all dmg taken by 25%
And if you weren't being focused you could switch to a 2h and auto attack in battle stance granting 12 rage per swing. (when ss was on cd)

With my pvp resi build I hit 44.57% I switch to the Staff of jordan (Mogged with "house Wrynn Halberd =D ) which has +7 pvp resi when caster's are on me, then back to sword and board with melee.
I also have "repurposed lava dredger, which has +15 fire resistance, I switch to this to mitigate things like explosive shot and spells from destro locks and fire mage.

For the class I went Dwarf, for the racial "Stoneform" Reduce's all dmg by 10% and removes poisons and disease's. (2 min cd)

Spewfeel has a f2p Mitigation prot warrior. He made videos on youtube of how good it was. He was soloing 2 24 rogues and was barely getting hit hard.

However it feels like he's stacking stam now.

Yeah stam as a primary stat scales up in bgs where as secondary stats scale down i.e dodge, and the video with the 2 rogues it was just mainly through my armor and active shield block that made me tanky =D

FYI video no longer exists

I have another video where I fight 2 24 rogues back to back: skip to 4:00 of the video =D

F2P Prot Warrior 5.3 Spewfeel's good to be OP - YouTube
