Bebetta is the Guild Leader of a successful 19 Twink guild called Causa Mortis. This guild is an alliance guild in Cyclone, but they transferred a core group of their members from <CM> in the Nightfall battlegroup. Bebetta thinks a lot like me. We've had some great conversations in vent when I was part of their Cyclone chapter.
What twink are you currently playing most?
Bebetta, 19 gnome mage. This is actually a re-roll of my first twink, Bebette. If I hadn't leveled her, I'd probably have the "of the Alliance" title already =b
Do you have other twinks?
Nothing of note, a 19 horde mage, alliance pally and a 39 alliance lock.
What battlegroup do you play in?
Cyclone, via Nightfall, which was my original battlegroup for twinking.
How long have you been twinking?
Its been about 3 1/2 years!
What got you into twinking?
Back when 60 was the cap, I maxxed out characters on both factions, got bored and quit. When crossrealms came out, my roommate started off with an "accidental twink" and fell in with a few people who were sticking at 19 awhile. She seemed to be having fun, then one night she asked me to watch her mage in Warsong while she ran afk for one sec. My instructions were to just stand by the flag and "push 6" (frost nova) if anyone came near it. Well, she came back just in time to watch me cap my first flag while she yelled, "what are you doing?! I don't run flags!"
I had a blast with it, but she was not on a server where I had a main (before transfers opened up), so she offered to twink me. My first twink leveled from 14-19 in Warsong (yes, it was possible then), and thought I was badass with 780 hitpoints and auction house greens. When my "undefeated" team (<Outlaw>) hit our first real premade, we were 3-capped in about 10 minutes by some of the best guys I've met in the game. A few of them are even with us in <CM> now. After that one loss, we got organized, did our homework and made awesome twinks for a long run of 19 bracket PvP dominance. I miss those old days when our battles were truly epic. No debuff, no professions, just you, your gear, and the split-second decisions you made on the field.
What keeps you twinking?
Definitely the friends I've made. We're not as active as we used to be, but I adore the guys in <CM>, old and new. We'll premade again, but even if we didn't, we've been together too long to ever walk away. We've been part of each other's lives a long time and had a lot of laughs. I might not even be able to recognize my own guys walking down the street, but I know them and love them as much as any friend I've ever had.
What is your favorite PVP area?
Warsong, definitely.
What do you think of the changes that WoTLK and the patches have brought to twinking?
I think that professions have really hurt us, not just as a team but as a bracket. Even if we had them on our 10, it really makes games take too long, its just tedious to throw yourself against a 3-healer defense with mining and herb. Its boring and annoying, no fun at all. Before the professions and grandfathered junk, the action was more fast-paced in my opinion, and the stakes were higher.
As for the "haves" vs. the "have-nots" with grandfathered items, well there's no comparison. You can be fully twinked, but if you missed out on the window of opportunity for your profs and junk, it won't matter much against an all-profession/grandfathered item team, the advantage is just too overwhelming. It makes players who have them lazy about the finer points of gameplay and discourages new players from twinking at all.
What are your views on etiquette in regards to in game exploits, GY Camping, exploited gear, etc?
We don't do it, never have. We might hold them to the graveyard from underneath it, but we're not in there killing as they rez, ever. We also don't run with exploited gear.
Who are some of your favorite twink opponents?
All-time favorite was the old <Nerf This>/<iDominate> (no relation to the current guild of that name) from Deathwing. Amazing players, and incredibly fun to fight. Best of all, they played with an attitude of respect and good sportsmanship with no drama, forum bragging or e-peen waving on either side, win or lose. /salute
If you could get 1 single message to Blizzard in regards to twinking, what would it be?
Fix the professions - just remove the cap or cap the buff, whatever works. But don't leave us with a grossly imbalanced bracket!
