Bump. Just saw it.

Mad Max: 10/10

Freaking beautiful, little to no cgi (except the storm), simple but well executed plot, insane and inventive action, and a strong female action character.

I have to see the older ones now.

It's anything but. And it's mostly practical effects throughout the movie.

Maybe someday the industry will come up with something original again instead of remakes. Until then I will wait for it to come to cable.
I am sure it was great though.

When I first saw the previews come out for this movie I honestly thought it was going to be one of those dumb action movies strewn with ridiculous amounts of CGI and dialogue akin to the Fast and Furious franchise. Was blown away when I checked rotten tomatoes and saw it received 98% / 92% appeal among critics and the audience, respectively. Gonna have to go see it for myself some time this week.

Movie was pretty good, I give it a 9/10 but the weird part was that the guy who was playing as Mel gibsons part never really talked that much and closer to the end the movie had older women fighting which was kind of cheesy. But everything else was awesome.

Mel never had many lines in the original MAD max. But yes Furiosa had much more screentime.

Yeh, I noticed that they tried to make her closer to the main character, especially when she used the sniper and max helped as a support.

Watched it on my computer and was blown away. Theater must be a crazy experience for this movie. Love the atmosphere they built for the movie with costume design and the sets. It is like something straight out of 80s sci fi movies but updated for current day.
