You can swap out any ilvl 308 item for PvP gear. Keep the 409's no matter what. I use Inscription and Alchemy, but Inscription isn't the best, you should roll with LW and Alchemy. Furthermore, you can swap out gems according to preference, resillience or power. Don't look at the reforging, I was doing some world PvP vs lvl 90's

For PvP I'd suggest having either herb, engi or LW. Due to 80 PvP being all about burst I'd go with engi and herb. But you could swap out either of those for LW for either 785 agility or 1180 Stam. The only reason you'd want alch is for your meta bonus, but even then LW gives more damage and/or survivability.

Alchemy gives trinket + 80 primary stats. Trinket is roughly two wotlk trinkets in one. Engi gives 320 primary stats.
If anything, alchemy is better because you can reforge the stats.

Also, the trinket combined with a healing potion for a hunter means pretty much full health. It's lovely for duels and in PvE it could be handy to survive spike damage or perhaps some solo'ing.
