So what do I mean by that? Simple. The 20-24 bracket includes a lot of trial account players mixed in with a lot of full subscription players that have multiple alts, huge amounts of gold and probably every profession maxed. Some, are even OCD such as I am with my enchanter... I NEED ALLLLLLLLL the enchants.. ha ha haha MUWHAHAHAHAAA.... *cough* sorry.. got carried away...
So twinking takes time. Use it wisely. Trying to short cut your way into BOA heirlooms by doing random battlegrounds is not recommended. It makes your team mates hate you and call you names. It gives you a bad reputation in the community (nobody wants to do a premade with you) and it feeds honor to the opposite faction so they can get better gear to gank you even easier.
Some people might think I am OP, but those are the people running in un-enchanted vendor gear and a couple greens. Hell, those people I pretty much one shot. I think, any class that is played well and geared for the bracket would be considered OP by someone that isn't.
Now, with that in mind, if you (anyone) are going to play in the 20-24 xp off twink bracket, you should first spend time getting:
A) Best in slot, or close to it. Don't pay 150k for a pair of gloves with 1 more stam, that 10 points health wont help you. but get the 2nd best in slot that is available.
B) Level your professions, usually herbing and skinning for most twinks.
C) Get the best enchants and armor kits available to you. A free to play would be 16 armor on legs, a paid to play (caster) would need sapphire spell thread.
D) if you are a free to play player, you will need to level several professions, but I suggest skinning and herbing to be the ones you keep.
The main thing though, is get the best you can get before doing the battle grounds. THEN do bg to get boa gear. You will be at this for quite a while, so you may as well get it as fast as you can, and the fastest way is by winning! So gear for the win!
