legion secret Fathom Dweller mount questline

i was looting chests on broken shore. one was near the NPC you talk with to start the secret quest line. (have the mount already)

i have the achieve uniting the isles which was required to start this, so was curious and bored, so i started it with a level 10, went to the cave to get a item, did all 8 orbs in order. Kosumoth was up but i did not get the danger marking of his position on the map, but it was up, killed it, and got minor loot.

not sure if someone who did legion, did not do the above, would get the mount or pet?

Doesn't the mount/pet come from a WQ instead of dropping directly? I'm impressed that the orb steps work for us instead of their hidden quest having a level requirement, but that last step probably locks us out.

Ye, Mount is from WQ, so if you don't have it unlocked you can't get it.
Tested before and during LW

the achieve i mention above is account wide, WQ are unlocked at higher levels. so unless kosumoth is the WQ and there is a DANGER logo, the mount will not drop.

odd that we can do WQs in SL, DF. while older expacs are still gated. seems as if legion was the true bastard expac blizzard wants fresh player to skip

legion imo is the worst expac to do a chromie time level unless you have BOA heirloom weapons, the art wpns were nerfed too low, the effort to get the items to get it on par with other wpns is too slow, too late, and not worth the time.
