Grandfathered
Greetings,
Out of the 8 people scheduled to participate, we had 5 show up plus two last-minute additions. This brought the raid to 7 total. All Alliance!
Bosstwink-Rogue-DPS
Cossqt-Rogue-DPS
Dressings Warrior-Heals
Nowoneltrone-Rogue-DPS
Turten-Palladin-DPS
Twinkxlg-Rogue DPS
XTwinkie-Hunter-Tank
We downed 1 of the 2 targets planned for the raid today.
1. Morbidius (Duskwood), 25 Elite
-3,940 Health, Abilities: Mortal Strike
Even though he was already taken out on the previous raid, it was a pretty sloppy run and the goal today was a cleaner kill. We got just that. We had minimal trash to clear from questers in the area and got to pull him pretty quickly. XTwinkie's fence jumping skills had greatly improved and he held aggro and was untouched most of the fight. We lost one guy toward the end of the fight, but other than that, things went very smoothly.
2. Morbent Fel (Duskwood), 25 Elite
-1,633 Health, Abilities: Presence of Death (AoE Fear), Touch of Death (Drain Life), and Unholy Shield
The Morbent fight was brutal from the outset. In particular, grinding the trash to even get to him was pretty challenging. We had to cope with dense packs of mobs with high aggro range. There were many wipes, but things started to improve as we got closer to the boss by tightly packing the raid together, moving slowly, and staying focused.
Comms were almost nil due to many participants having issues with Vent and this added to the challenge. Additionally, I was having some issues with Healbot not showing me party members' true health which reduced my healing effectiveness.
Despite these challenges we pressed on and gave Morbent a couple good attempts. One of these was actually going really well until respawns in the room started to bog us down. Ultimately we wiped out and had to later abandon the attempt on him.
Morbent is definitely a do-able boss for a L1 raid and we learned a lot with respect to how to LoS his casts (Thanks XTwinkie) to keep the tank from getting hit to hard. We will definitely try him again in the future, but it will require a bit more participation. Working comms and some better coordination will help seal the deal for a smooth kill.
Thanks to those who did show up and to those that signed up, but couldn't make it or had to leave early. Hope to see you all next time and keep your eyes out for the next raid announcement
Cheers,
Boobookit
