Thanks for replying..
So basically there are only 2 real brackets now?
As Im guessing any bracket (19/29/39) will give XP meaning you cant hang around for too long?
Is that correct?
Also if I have a F2P account.. linked to same Bnet.. are heirlooms still a thing and can they be used on alternative bnet accounts?
Any ideas which server is best atm?
So turning your xp off will do a couple of things.
- it will turn your xp off
- it prevents you from joining battlegrounds with people who have their xp on (levellers), putting you into a queue with only other xp off players. The population of xp off players isn't high enough to get regular/reliable battlegrounds going
- if you create a group/invited to a group, those other members of the group have a permanent debuff while you're in the group, reducing their xp gain by 90%
This leaves just a few options to twink and get into battlegrounds/boost people
Free to play obviously limits your level to 20 - here you can grind for gear and get into battleground with regular levellers 20-29
A vet character is a toon that has game time, locked their xp at level 20 to gear up and receive all the benefits of a regular account (Most importantly gaining access to mail/AH to acquire gems, enchants, gear etc.).
Once that toon as geared up & you want to play it in battlegrounds you must turn your xp back on and either wait for the account gametime to run out or transfer the toon to an account without gametime.
It's important to turn your xp back on before you do this otherwise you'll have no game time, and be unable to turn your xp on, preventing you from getting into battleground etc.
The level 50 bracket will become more of a prominent thing as the expansion progresses. Those that haven't bought shadowlands can't level past 50 however they haven't had to lock their xp. This puts them in pretty much the same position as a free to play/vet character.
Realms are linked to one another more than ever at the moment so picking a realm is greatly up to you. those with higher populations will have a lot more options in the AH but the prices will likely be higher.
AH is now linked between the two factions btw.
Pretty sure a linked f2p account will have access to heirlooms but they're not as strong as they used to be.
