...but does anyone else think Shane is a bit quick on the trigger? I don't know if this forum has always been like this, but I see players getting banned left and right, and my posts being deleted nearly as often. Mostly, though, what got me thinking on this was how he stepped in and, so far as I can tell (civics class, help me!) limited either lofi's freedom of speech or freedom of press, as the information included in her rankings thread is public knowledge.

Shane's quick on the trigger but he's not really limiting anyone. If anything Drayner was the biggest dictator this site has seen. Shane's been a lot more understanding and civil than most Admins in my opinion.
 
I am quick to ban those that break the rules. I do not tolerate BS. Yes, this is a forum, but it is largely a place where people come to seek knowledge, not trolling.

I will absolutely weigh in if I feel that something should be changed to better the community. As for Lofi's "freedom of speech", it is a forum that I OWN. Freedom of speech is also limited in some countries and cannot really be put against a...forum...

Please, show me where I have been unfair. Every ruling has been made to quiet trolling, bad language, obscene posts, etc. I am trying to better this community for information sharing. But, in the same breathe, people should not be forced into participating a RANKING thread when that information is NOT distributed in that same manner.

I understand where you are coming from Lich. However, I have a responsibility to this community to make it better, not to each individual person. If a decision affects more people in a positive way than in a negative way, then that is a decision I will make.

In essence, there is no one decision that every person is going to agree on. But, I will ALWAYS hear people out and have them voice their concerns without any "lashing back" as long as it is done in a constructive manner.

also OP, take your civics class and shove it up your ass. shane is not the government, so he can infringe upon your "rights" since he owns the site and makes the rules

I know several people that you have instantly permabanned with 0 given reasons, that when they come back to TI see a permaban + cant post in ban appeals forum, .So your claim that you always "hear" people out I call bs on.

On topic, I think Shane is doing a good job. If you strive to follow the CoC, bans/locks/infractions should never be a problem. Keep in mind that this is a free internet forum that many of us rely on for information (and sometimes even entertainment); we really are not ones to complain here. It's like going to a free soup kitchen that provides for like 500 people every day then complaining about the food and service. Mind yourself before minding others.
 
I see nothing wrong with him being on top of things , people should just take a deep breathe & think before they type and press " Post Quick Reply "
 
Drayner believed in the golden rule. plain and simple. If u didn't attack him/troll him, then he didn't care what you wrote/posted
 
Hopefully a ban appeal section fix so we don't have to circumvent bans to appeal them?

I did both banning and unbanning, the latter because out of correctness I am taking your word for it that the person posting with your ingame name, your IP, mirroring your signature and writing in the same run on style of writing is in fact a separate person and your real life friend. Please act accordingly. And stop necroing threads.
