They do have some great burst, but they lack any kind of suravility, not having deterrence makes a huge difference, ill just say what i usually say in such situations, if the class appeals you, and you think that you might have fun playing it, go for it.
You could roll a Mage and end up being #1 in each Battleground, but if you dont like the class you are playing, it's not worth it.
However, getting back to topic, the worse 70's class at the moment i would say are warriors, and right before, either hunter or warlocks, to give you an idea on how they are.

Do you know any US guilds looking for positions for raids? Because il level a 70 hunter quickly aslong as I know i can join the raids for some gear
You can check my sticky at the top of the 70's section with all the American, Horde and Alliance guilds and perhaps get in contact with them to see if they need people !

I would definitely not say that hunters are bad in this bracket. I shit all over rogues. I am always top 3 damage in bgs as MM (never as BM) when I solo and usually #1 by a mile if a pocket healer decides to follow me around.
Your best friend as a hunter with no survival cds is disengage. Period. Learn to master it. Learn how to jumpspin-disengage so that it appears that you are disengaging forward. Use feign death right as a caster finishes casting a spell at you so that it fails. Be mindful of your pet's health and if you see it getting low, dismiss and recall it so that it jumps back to full. If there are melee everywhere, stand on a freezing trap while you turret so that you have time to gain distance if one decides to come hit you. Never forget about your flare and use it to fuck over sloppily vanishing rogues mid combat. Use scatter as a kick. Etc etc! Once these things are second nature, hunters are just as good as any other class in the bracket, and a LOT more fun.

I have a PVE hunter, and yes they are considered a weaker class @ 70.
i do enjoy my hunter though, and yes its all about well not really skill but game knowledge. imo the only way a hunter is going to work is if they go full PVE geared for bgs (but this cant be done in arenas)

as others have said you have no survibility, basically the wind hurts you, you have to counteract this by doing as much damage as possible while your still alive.

Pretty much this, i switch between Agility-stacked and Resilience-stacked sets depending on if i have a healer, how many mages, if i want to oneshot qpac, etc.
I usually just roll with somthing like this; http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/thrall/Eso/advanced , Just aim to control people with scatter, silence, conc shot, pin, clench, i tend to play stupidly offensive, opening with Rapid fire and/or haste pots, depending, but yeah, go with what works.

haha i do the same thing with durpdurp on my priest, if hes in my bg i always go pve gear and have a glass cannon death fest

well its mostly a game of fast reactions and casting times, plus i got horror on my spriest, so that usually lets me win the PVE vs PVE battles

tbh i agree with river here tho it would all come down to who got the opener if ur pve ele and river dots then horror followed by scilence ( may not even be required) ur dead but on the other hand i know very easily a ele sham could 2 hit u in ur 33 resil

yeah but skill will usually prevail, its always a nice warming feeling with you beat a frostmage as a hunter

'Tis nice to sit there with haste pot up, rapid fire, berserking, double chimera, tazik. and still get burnt by healers, *healers* before i even have a chance of killing them.
And yeah, RIP Oneshotting a small groups of people in Alterac valley with multi-shot.
