hunter pet keybind

ok so i have a screech bat, and it takes 80 focus to do sonic blast(which is the reason i have it as a pet of course) but is there any way to make it so it doesnt use its focus while its attacking so i can sonic blast whenever i need to when its not on CD, it always seems to not have enough focus

Notice on your pet action bar how some of the abilities have a circling twinking kinda deal. Shift right click it and it looks normal? That means your pet will auto do that abillity wihtout you telling it to. So shiftrightclick it then bind it or put it in a macro and you will control when your pet uses X ability

so i have to just keybind all its abilities so it cant use them lol, then have sonic blast keybinded to what i want

Not exactly. On your pet action bar, you will notice thee icons have a form of twinking / glowing / flash type thing compared to your normal icons which have no animation. Simply right click the ability and that will turn it off auto-cast.

When the icons are twinkling, that means they are on auto-cast and your pet will use them at it's own will. When there is no twinkling, you must click the ability or use it via keybind.

Good luck!

You don't have to keybind, but it can work well. On mine I just turned off all of the automatic abilities, then clicked on the pet's action bar to make it do the sonic blast.

The automatic abilities like growl, cower, bite, and sonic blast will have a glow at the edge of the box if they are set to automatically trigger when enough focus is available and the cool down is up. Right-click, or Shift-click to toggle the automatic off and on.

Other tips: Many players never use Growl in PvP. Growl can be good to pull another pet off of you to attack your pet instead.

When you get a chance, dump the Bat and get a Ravager instead. They have a 40 second cooldown on Ravage instead of the 1 minute cool down on Sonic Blast.

The effects are very similar. To get a Ravager as Horde can be a long trip, but it is very doable. My only tip on that is: drown under the dock where you catch the boat to Azuremyst Isle, then rez on the stern of the boat.

Good Luck,

I keybound the following macros.

/petautocasttoggle bite

Hitting that macro turns the autocasts for bite on or off as needed.

and

/cast [pet, target=pettarget] Sonic Blast

/petattack

This allows me to send a pet on a target other than what I'm currently targetting and then upon hitting the macro, my bat will sonic blast whatever target it is that it is currently targeting and then automatically switch to attacking my current target.
