Hunter Gear choices (specific slots) Help me out

First off I've looked at the "good" hunters in my BG which is cyclone and have assembled a belief of what I believe I should get. However, I feel there are a few slots I need help choosing as I feel i haven't found a perfect geared hunter...if you think you know 1 link me please.



Helm Choices: I have seen all these, and feel the goggles are tops, yet rarely see hunters have them.

Adventurer's Pith helmet

Nocturnal Cap of the Monkey +12 Agility, +12 Stamina

Green Lens of the Eagle +16 Intellect, +16 Stamina (would have +8 agi libram, go die in a fire PTR)



Bracer Choices: I mainly see scorpashi. But what about Unearthed Bands of intellect?

Scorpashi Wristbands

Unearthed Bands of Intellect +10 Intellect



Glove Choices: I can't decide between GoHM and Revelosh's of the Falcon.

Gloves of Holy Might

Revelosh's Gloves of the Falcon +8 agility, +9 intellect



Neck Choices: No clue

Darkmoon Pendant

Sentinel's Medallion



I think I understand everything else. Is Shadowforge Bushmaster worth farming if I have a Bow of Searing Arrows



Also is dual Speedsteel Rapier, or Nordic Longshank, better than 1 of those with Vanquisher's Sword

That is because they can no longer be made any more. Err what I mean is the stat versions can no longer be made any more. Only like Firepower, Healingpower, etc. . .

Well the Unearthed Bracers can not accept BC enchants due to the level reuirement so scorpashi is still the better choice imho

Get both if you can. I use GoHM personally

I'm not sure, someone may want to confirm this, but I believe the proc from BoSA breaks scattershot. Again I'm not 100% positive though

First are you horde or alliance? Alliance are unable to get the Nordic Longshanks :-(

I would still get Vanquishers though because it's going to be a strong weapon come 3.1
 
Alright so would you choose Adventurer's Pith helmet or nocturnal Cap of the Monkey? Also I am alliance. What type of changes?
 
The vast majority of weapon procs have been fixed to prevent them from procing off of CCing abilities and breaking them. BoSA should have been amongst those weapons that were fixed.



I've noticed that Robes of the Lich are popular amongst Hunters at 39 too, in spite of it being cloth.
 
head:

cap. 7spirit is useless and 12/12 is better than 9/14...you are kiting, no use of too much hp^^



bracer:

if they patch away the BC enchants, unearthed eagle/monkey will be viable. if not scorpashis are superior.



gloves:

14crit/3AP/63AC <-> 10stam/crit gained by 8agi

if not under pressure GOHM are superior...have them both.



neck:

imo darkmoon is better due to more AP. AP goes straight to your pet...you will make up for 5agi in other slots.



weapons:

if you not gain any racial from BoSA i wouldn't use it. but farming SFBM is not worth it. silencer is equal to BoSA and you do not have to farm ulda for arrows.

vanq with 30int is your best bet to gain AP and the best MH afaik. as you mention the longshank you must be horde...oh no, you are alliance. then add a speedsteel/wsg dagger. look at your AP/crit to decide wether you want agi or int on it.



i didn't found any question about the chest, but yes...lich is best in slot.
 
On my Alliance Hunter I use The Duskwood axe with 8 crit rating. Yes it is more for the 29s but i put 30int on it. This allows me to have almost equal Ap and Crit compared to the WSG dagger with + 20 agility (might be off a little on the Crit but the AP is 2 points higher with Careful aim). I use Vanquisher with +20 with that Axe and have had great results.
 
7 spirit isn't necessarily useless. for regening mana, it's pretty decent. sometimes you have to conserve mana and just autoshot with aspect of the viper. /shrug
 
You'll always want vanquisher's for one of your weaps. The only time a hunter doesn't have it equipped is when it has 30 int, and they switch to dual longshanks with +20 agi after using up that 60 int worth of mana.



Also, BoSA is only best if you're a troll. If not, you may want even Silencer over it. SFBM is about as farmable as PoD though, so I donno if you wanna waste your time with that endeavor.

anyone did the math if it is worth swapping out dual 30int weapons after the mana is used?



if not fighting a melee that always gets into range there won't be much benefit. maybe just switch out the OH and keep vanq.

Hm, good point. Well, for one it'd be 10ap vs 20agi worth of crit.
 
seems you are in the same situation... i didn't remember how much crit a hunter get's from 20agi and so i was not able to calculate if 2dmg per hit (silencer) is better or worse.



but i think 20 agi superior due to the burst it grants...knowing this it depends on the situation. if another skill is ready it is not worth the gcd.
 
question: what shoulder would be best?



also i think rolling a hunter on Horde benefits more, cause you can acquire the Nordshank, and Wolf Runner Shoes.
 
true, but dwarfs are alliance. oh and draenei too, if you want an instaselfheal.



dwarf...dwarf...dwarf. mine was dwarf^^ even with the stoneform nerf they are the best hunters in this bracket. no matter what.

flintrock if you don't want to work or revelosh if you want to work

if you are looking for BoA stats...

as hunters have no 38boots you will use some boots without minor speed or the 28 ones. if you want to get cat's/boar's to gain minor speed, you will lack the +hit from surefooted. it is possible to make up for it with pts in focused aim, but your pet won't benefit from it. with +hit on gloves and the shadowcraft shoulders you gain 22 hit and free one point from focused aim and give your pet 1%hit.

up to you if it is viable. besides this 27AP is pretty much and AP goes straight to your pet. i don't want to do the exact math, espacially cause it depends on your decision what to do with the free talentpoint.

to make it easy:

1% dmg for your pet and a 1% less misses with their special abilities

+ 1% ranged dmg for you (if you put the free pt in imp tracking)

(+ 2% less mana costs if you chose to pick efficiency, there are more viable options)



compare this to rev's of the monkey/eagle:

18stam 9agi/int.



your choice, but i think it is worth it.

for a draenei there are 2 free pts as they have a 1%hit racial.
 
i was told the humanoid/beast former talents only worked vs NPC's is the new combined talent changed to be more damage vs Players as well?
 
all players are humanoid and druids in cat/bear are beast. if tracking stealthed/demon/elemental you won't gain any bonus.



edit: well, you get bonus, but not to humanoid.
