How long did it take you

So, a little while back I re-twinked my warrior for the 49 bracket, and I can say it was a real pain in the ass to get all of his gear. The piece I had the most trouble with was my Spiderfang Carapace. Took my 67 runs to finally have it drop. I had three consecutive boss spawns!

So my question to you is this:

How long did it take YOU to get an ideal piece of gear?

Over 300 or so runs for Defias Chest, Cruel Barb, Thief's Blade, Leggings of the Fang and Footpads of the Fang.

200+ runs and counting on Blade of eternal darkness. 150+ runs and counting on bloomsprout headpiece. 200+ runs of arena in BRD and counting for cyclopean band.

EDIT: Don't even get me started on spider fang carapace, gave up on that because I got sick of BRD. Then there's revelosh's gloves of healing an shoulder's of nature's wrath... I'd still say the worse were all the princess runs for BoED

Are they 49 items?

Ya, and trust me when you've run maraudon for like 8+ hours a day, for months you want to shoot yourself. I haven't done any runs in forever though, and mostly because I haven't been on the game in a long time. :p

Blade of Eternal Darkness - Item - World of Warcraft

Cyclopean Band - Item - World of Warcraft

Spiderfang Carapace - Item - World of Warcraft

Bloomsprout Headpiece - Item - World of Warcraft

The worse part is, the drop rate on BoED is obviously retardedly low, then bloomsprout is off a rare spawn that has an equally dismally low spawn rate. Then we go over to BRD which involves farming arena. The items I want drop off a boss mob which also has a low spawn rate. Toss into account the low drop rate of the items and it's a mess.

havent ever tried for BoED but /shudder.

it took me countless runs on my rogue (for chest, never dropped), 1st druid (chest when i was feral, never dropped) pally (helm which never dropped), 2nd druid (for feral, never dropped), and shaman (both, neither dropped) until i finally hit pay dirt on AEro and got the friggen helm. meshlock has a decent spawn rate, i think it was buffed at some point in BC, but i got that dam holy damage which is now SP chest which sucks. literally an uncountable # of runs, and one stinkin helmet.

BRD ive done easily over 100 times on druid #1 and 2 for cyclopean and banthok. only got ogreseer's for my druid #2, ogreseer and banthok for druid #1. cyclopean has not been seen.

spiderfang i tried farming for my pally in BC, only did about 25-30 runs b4 i called it quits and decided hydralik armor was juuuuust fine. and i have no intention of getting my warrior it, specially since im already hit capped.

still needa do princess for her leggings since silvershells are now inferior (lamelamelame!!!!) but hopefully that wont be killer.....ill make sure to post if i get BoED before the legs lol.

lol I feel so cheap. I didn't bother to pick up any of the rare shit for gradius. Cheap and easy all the way for me!

EDIT: I only did so because I didn't think I would be keeping Gradius at 49 for very long. That was like 3 months ago lol.

Lol I completely forgot about getting the leggings on my pally, and fucking gizlock's hypertech shield, that took a ridiculous amount of time as well as arbiter's blade -_-. I was going for cyclopean and banthok on my drood too, and got banthok but never cyclopean. I spent months in BRD as well, I would alternate BRD and mara. Then there was farming the feral chestpiece for my drood. That was ridiculous, it was quite satisfying when I finally got it, but still a very annoying endeavor. By this point I hate meshlock the harvester. I've also been trying to get ban'thok and cyclopean now on my lock but I got so sick of BRD I said screw it and just started pvp'ing with him. I will need them at some point though, since he has no hit rating lol.

Edit: If you do get BoED it would be pretty funny since you can equip it. Toss like sader on that or something and go stab nubs with it in SS. I love doing things like that >.> I had a pitchfork on my pally with crusader and I'd go to SS when I was bored. Also, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17741 isn't too bad for a regen set on a priest these days, since spi took a nerf, and it looks sexy ;). I even kept it for my holy set for max regen, tossed +6 mp/5 on it and that's 14 mp/5 on a chest. It's obviously outdated for a pally though, with the update of green dragonscale.

Lol consider yourself lucky my friend...

For all the bored Meshlok farmers.

Took 2 hours for my Warrior to get the helm.

40 mins for my Shaman.

Also when I was finishing my 39 hunter, here is the list of Revelosh drops:

1. Monkey shoulders

2. Nature Wrath shoulders

3. Fiery Wrath gloves

4. Stamina boots

5. Eagle gloves

Was very nice.

I think the pinnacle of all runs... is the coffer :p

Yeah I was doing that while I was running for arbiter's blade because you have to kill the boss standing right before the coffers for the sword. Never got the ring or neck though.

also a bad one is ST chests and gloves. belts and boots arent too bad.

however i got lucky as heck on my shaman, decided to go there for boots...1st time there i get 16/17 falcon chest. 2nd time thru trolls i get 13/13 eagle gloves!! of course this was before green dragonscale (which are now better), but i was still so pumped!

never even had the courage to farm coffers....getting all the keys would be a pain, and finding people to do the runs, blech!!! however once i leveled out my 1st druid (who was primarily feral) a perfect monkey neck dropped for a rogue in the group....i sighed really loud b/c that woulda been awesome as a twink, oh well c'est la vie.

Meshlok!

First time: Chest for a feral druid of a friend of mine.

Second time: Headpiece for his enh-shaman.

Third time: Headpiece for my own sham.(He could finally return the favor then!)

My BoeD from the princess was pure luck as there is a rediculous drop rate on that item. I didn't actually go for it, but it dropped - and I am sorry for those who went there 100+ times - in the 7th run ...

MB you must not want something too hard to get it ... you like in RL >.>

47 solo Meshlok kills and 250+ instance resets, before I got my Fungus Shroud, which ofc dropped on the first kill on my hunter :(

Yep pretty much the same thing I did on my druid except I think I got it done in under a 100.

Personally I think rare spawn loot is easier to get because it usually has a 30% chance to drop over a 10% chance and as long as you can stealth in and check it's easy.

(I would say rare spawns show up every 5-6 resets)

Meshlok the Harvester....bane of my existence! he spawns pretty often, but his loot table is a female dog. 33% chance of dropping fungus shroud, 32% on natures embrace, and 30% on bloomsprout, mind you only from people contributing to wowhead. for some reason he always felt like blessing me with a holy damage chest that i had no use for whether i was on my druid(s), pally, shammy, or warrior. combined i dont even wanna count how many runs i did for him. and i only have the helm on my warrior! on my moonkin/resto druid i got the chest just b/c he was in the way of celebras and he was mocking me. i have it for a feral set, but i never use it b/c feral sucks lol, nice joke on me mesh!

now a spawn with a worse rate is ok'thor the breaker in the arena of BRD. i've heard he has the lowest spawn rate of all the bosses, and from the # of times i've tried farming him i would have to agree wholeheartedly. the only redeeming factor about ok'thor is that if you're a caster who can only use leather (for ogreseers instead of green dragonscale) than he drops 3 items you want; cyclopean band, ban'thok sash, and ogreseer fists. he does drop savage glad. pants, but very rarely...so basically if you get him to spawn, and you're a druid, grats. you have almost 1/3 chance of getting something you need. if he drops the mail legs, lol, blizz hates you =P.

As far as the BoED goes, is it worth it?

I was thinking of farming it for my 49 disc. priest but I'm not sure it procs on the spells I use. I know what it use to proc on but it appears the tooltip was updated to say "direct damage spells" but I'm not sure if the mechanics actually changed.

Does the BoED proc off of mana burn and dots? (By dots I mean on the first application of)
