How is Disc? :-)

Kind of bored in WoW atm and thinking of rolling a healer for the 20 bracket. Any good?

Disc Priest > MW Monk > Resto Shaman > Restoration Druid > Denounce "Holy" Paladin.
Thats how I would rate healers in this bracket atm

Disc can basically out dps the majority of every dps spec and heals hit 1k solid even if your a stam stacking slut. But hey fukin resto droods been reking.

Disc atm is by far the strongest and easiest healer to play in the bracket.
The flood of Disc is extreme so do everybody a favor and chose a diff. class. Also if you are bored already Disc wont help you cause it has the least buttons to press.
And dont listen to DPS-rerollers on disc. Ask other Ppl who played healclasses for more than 1 expansion.

tl/dr: Go RShaman!

disc > rsham > mw > hpala > rdruid

If your team already has a disc priest, rsham > disc priest

disc priest is by far the best heal in the bracket but their potential is much lower with multiples on the team. GL

Thanks for the opinions, appreciated!

Then I give those 3 classes a try, does anyone have updated armories for Disc, resto druid and shaman? The ones listed in the forum section are years old, or I'm looking at the wrong place :S (level 29)

Edit: Btw, are Resto Druids not more DPS with a bit of healing tacked on?

Rdruid is most commonly used for fc'ing, you can still get some decent healing with a regular healing set up but it's not as common. Cat form resto can hit like a truck if geared properly, ferocious bite is pretty much OP with any spec when you stack the right stats, but you'll lose a lot of survivability.

The disc armories on the 20 - 29 armory list are updated. Slub @ Aerie Peak - Community - World of Warcraft has a good set up but I'd go with haste boa shoulders, stam enchant to bracers and probably not gnome for a race... no offense to gnomes or anything, just not the best racial for a disc.

Sadly there's not many resto shaman's being posted to the list, I'll look for some to add on, but you can pretty much get away with stam stacking like this one does Twinkalink @ Darkspear - Community - World of Warcraft just maybe not go full stam stack. BoA chest or vest of flowing waters would be ideal, stats to chest is a must for healers, haste enchants of course and haste BoA's for helm / shoulders. Maywiki's ring or shipyard would also be better than the wicked moonstone ring.

If you choose a resto shaman you can stay at level 20 and have the same output as a level 29. You will have the same stats as a level 29 in BGs as well if you are properly equipped. There a few offensive spells you will be lacking but nothing very notable. A GOOD resto shaman can do just fine at level twenty. You still have purge and shear and all of your healing spells except earth shield. You have your dispel still. All your shocks except frost. And as an added bonus you can participate in level twenty "games".

You can give MW a try as well. Same thing with Mistweaver. You do lose your ability to buff. That could be really really important to you.

All healers are very very viable at the lower end of the spectrum in the 20-29 bracket. Some more than others.

You can get an idea of armories in the level 20 section. Even if you are rolling a level 29. Much of the gear is the same. Practically everything is heirloom that is BiS except for a few pieces. And even then, scaling on some of the lower gear is better than the upper level gear. That is how a level 20 can wear a belt that has 13 stamina!
Good luck!

stop trying to convert people to level 20 Alley, go back to your corner.

For skirms, Rsham > Disc > Hpala > Rdruid > MW for most comps.

Rsham for all-round utility, disc for pure dmg/healing output, hpala for cc/denounce, rdruid for burst, mw is kinda meh but good output.

But you see, my little lipsion, you are driving people away. While I am welcoming people with open arms.
I even mentioned rolling a level 29, grasshopper. And even wished him luck.

Earth Shield, Frost Shock, Earthbind Totem and a Glyph (prob Frostshock-Root or Wolf) + a couple of Items with more useful stats

Please name those items with "useful" stats. Sure, there are a few. But, as I noted, level 29 shamans cannot partake in level 20 wargames which happen each and every night. Or in any other level 20 only events.
I beg of YOU to link a level 29 shaman with every stat superior to my level twenty shaman in a battleground.

Now, that is not to say other classes should play level 20. I am just of the opinion that resto shamans are just as effective at level 20 as they are at 29. And others, as well as myself, have proven it over and over again and again.
I would go so far as to say that I have more experience playing shaman than anyone on this entire site. As I was raiding MC on a shaman when some of TI's members were still in diapers.

So far Ive found that the easiest to kill( or so it seems) is Rdruid,Hpally,Rshaman,Dpriest and MwMonk. And this is just an average finding, there are people who are skilled healers and make it hard to kill them regardless of class.

You basically named all heals ._.
