How is arcane/fire Mage in MoP?

Dont really think you will be able to put a label on the spec, in the same way as now.. Because you can get scorch in frost etc etc.. But i think fire will be fun :)
 
no more blast wave, flamestrike no more istant, NO COMBUSTION, no ignite...i think fire will not be viable. I mean i dont think that fire will have enogh burst to take down an healer anymore.
Arcane will be better then frost in my opinion.
I didnt try anything yet in beta this is only an idea that i have after i readed talents and abilities...so maybe i can wrong.
 
you have baseline shatter (crit*2+25%. so a nerf for frost but a buff for fire/arcane - only on frozen targets ofc). baseline deep freeze and you can choose between ring of frost, a casted nova+silence (on target, not ae) or you are able to put a "ward" on a friendly target which has a 20s cooldown (1 charge atm) and if the "warded" target gets hit, everything in 10y range will get frozen (lasts 30s atm). you are undepending of spec able to choose cold snap, which is a HUGE buff to fire and arcane, it only has a 3 min cd and is useable while stunned etc (AND it heals you instantly for 20% of your health). you can take ice barrier in every spec, seems to scale with spellpower * 5 = absorb amount (my 85 premade mage has 7.5k spell, it absorbs around 37kish~)

fire and arcane will be a lot more viable then they are now. :)
arcane will be heavily reliant on stacks, more like now. output is great, you have some neat stuff thanks to the new talent"tree". looks like all specs will be in a good state.

oh and before i forget it
improved counterspell is baseline, you have inferno blast as fire (which spreads all your dots) it replaces fire blast (rng stun remains the same, but only for fire). you wont have living bomb anymore (75 talent, as you can see on the linked page) combustion cooldown is lowered to 45s and you can glyph the duration (+100% duration). you will have invisibility with 70 now, as you can learn it with 56. you wont have slow as arcane anymore as its obtainable at 77

you have combustion, you learn it at level 62, as you can see in the "talent calc" i linked, just click on fire and scroll down. star on the right side of the ability means "spec-based"

nvm, just noticed they apparently changed it, you have dragons breath again with 62 but you arent able to learn combustion with 70. you dont have ignite on 70, maybe fire is in a worse state atm or can be played as a "hardcast"-spec now, as the damage seems to be higher than on retail

Tested for only some minutes the 3 specs.
- As i tought fire is dead: no living bomb(require lvl 75 talent) no combustion (require lvl77), no ignite (become mastery), blast wave removed from the game, flamestrike 2 sec cast. Dmg is almost the same but without combustion i think will be hard, if not impossible, to kill a BiS healer with skill.
- frost: no more finger of frost from pet freeze and no more 1.2 cast frostbolt. Cone of Cold dont freeze in place anymore. Icelance now do 4 times his dmg (up to 3), so icelance now (on frozen target or with finger of frost up ) hit almost the same as a frostbolt ( around 9k). no brain freeze ( require lvl 77). Gain Frozen Orb.
- Arcane, in my fire pve gear arcane blast crit was around 13k with arcane power up. The nicest thing is Arcane Chage: with 4 stacks u send 4 arcane barrage that hit 12k ( with arcane power up, around 9 without). Sick.

Every mage will have imp counterspell, deep freeze, invisibility and Shatter. Armors now have 3 sec cast.
