How feasible is gearing up a 69 twink without any help?

The idea of a 69 twink is appealing but not sure how gearing up a 69 is doable without any help?

On a related note, will 69 mage have a rough time in TBC given that there will be sooo many SL/SL warlocks?

BIS is impossible to get solo. Pretty much all specs have at least 1 or 2 bis items from Naxx (weaps / trinks) and/or BWL (nef's tear for example). And ZG head enchants. Then there's multiple bop items from the higher level dungeons. Technically you could solo that by joining pugs but you'd be at the mercy of RNG due to limited experience gain. I guess you could reserve and buy those items if you're loaded.

The good news is that you can still be very effective without any of that stuff. If you only use quest gear, professions and some boe's you can still be competitive. Some specs can get 3 very strong boe armor pieces from LW / BS and the eng goggles.

Mages are probably fine but I also decided against making a mage because I don't want to deal with sl/sl, fel hunters stacked with resistance and also big red hunter pets also stacked with resist (while being immune to all CC). Oh and viper sting spam.

Mage will still be strong, every class has their obvious counters, but that just means it takes that extra effort to outplay them. I get that RNG resists are cancer.

To be fair, TBC destro is so much more fun than SL/SL. You can go full Drakedog on ppl. Destrochaining is so satisfying.

Rogue is gonna be crazy fucking good. I can already see some go mutilate meme spec and try to 2-shot people (not best spec, but fun and gimpy).

Boomkin has always been TBC sleeper spec. It was quite complex overall, so no one really knew how to play it properly back in the day. However, today's playerbase is way more experienced, and I can guarantee you will see some killer boomkins in the 69 bracket as well as endgame.

The good thing is that literally every class is viable. Some specs will require more effort, but no matter what you play, you'll be fine. Even if you wanna play fkn feral.
