How are warriors at 85/89?

Hi, I've all but given up on the 60 bracket atm as it has ran rampant with 69 fire mages and feral-affinity Rdruids.
I'm leaning towards lvl 89 mainly so I can run TBC heroics myself for gems and not have to bug people for runs lol. I've got a few high-level alts I could bring into the bracket but I'm leaning towards warrior as usual. I see a ton of posts regarding the legendary staff & daggers, but I haven't come across many up-to-date warriors to get an idea of their builds. How do they perform?

You can also get 128 epic 2h next patch for 89, but I didn't see much value in the upgrade myself. Out of BG tho… haven't had time to finish the 89 yet with so much time-sensitive changing in other brackets. Cata heroics and dungeon armor too.

Blue dungeon drops for 89 will be ilvl 121 next patch, and those heroics will be ilvl 120 for 85-89. Compared to DS raid.

Cata dungeons have some sockets, MoP does not.

I have most of the DS raid gear for mine, but here's what i'm looking at using next patch instead. Maybe.

All the 114 blue will be 121.
All the 108 epic will be 120.

Compared to the DS ilvl 112. Much easier gearing amid weekly lockouts. IMO.

thank you for the info. Sorry for my ignorance but what is the 128 epic 2h to-be? Sounds beefy. I look forward to looking at the vast amount of gear available, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't walking into a terrible bracket for warriors
 
The rares in the MoP zones drop different armor depending which zone you kill them in. Legs in jade forest, bracers in kun lai, etc... The rares in krasarang also drop epic BoE legs, which according to the PTR will also be 128 for level 89.

The rares in jade forest also drop various epic weapons. The mogu guy most north in jade forest drops the 2h.

The same mogu guy in the zone all the way to the west (drawing a blank) drops a bag with random epics too.

The epic stuff is rarer, but set on particular mobs. Every kill will drop a random blue armor according to zone.

Oh, and im sure warriors are great. Like every bracket. This one might be very bursty too tho. Lots of cool gear.

warriors do have their disadvantages against mages

That's a good looking warrior. I been gearing my rogue like this, but I'm not sure on the daggers to use (legendaries are out ATM). Any ideas? I been thinking of the haste mastery one from DS and the three socket one from kara...

I always love this one, for pure main stat volume... I don't know secondary stats for rogues well at 89 tho, so I just took screenshots from the PTR for you. LOL. You can see that end time is a hair better with the same stats than dungeon.

Also note that I screwed up (forgot) and the three end time heroics scale up to 121 too, not just 120 like ZG/ZA.

If you go for the DS dagger you get 2 more agility, and 1 point extra secondary (using 5/5 gem vs the haste/mastery 121) but lose out on weapon damage. I cant tell you the value of each at 89, sorry. But the 121 should be an easy farm.

I'd try both out and see. ;)

(the dungeon blue should be an easy farm, the heroics can be ornery)

Tyvm... Think I'll go with the quicksilver blade as I intended on going for legendaries sooner or later anyways. Thanks for your help <3

I dont have an 85 to compare it to, sorry. Sometimes it hardly procs, sometimes it procs a lot.

I don't know how truly useful it is to any spec other than fury, due to dual-wielding them. They still proc at 99 tho. That bone link fetish turned to absolute garbage, it wasnt too long ago it worked great on that very warrior.

I used that warrior I linked a ton on the PTR and live, mostly killing the MoP rares I mentioned, and like I said... sometimes it procs a lot and sometimes not a lot. But the damage it does on proc is substantial if they don't run out of range.

And like I said, I didn't find the 128 epics to be vastly superior... and much less fun. :)

BUT ----> there were literally dozens of mobs I was spamming WW on for a while, it wont do that in a BG.
 
Fury is insanely good in the 80 bracket, with so much damage even having very little healing you can still destroy everyone.
You Got a pocket healer? Run a round with a 10 stack of death wish the entire bg, and laugh as 1 rampage kills someone from full hp.
I've done a 4895 crit with 1 out of 4 hits with rampage on my warrior, the damage is pretty mental..
Aoe dmg is mental aswell, with whirlwind - rampage or whirlwind - execute.

That's my 85 fury warrior, very close to bis, with full procs I have 2011 str with double untamed blade.. 650 attack power normally, so you can imagine how insane that is

lol that's hilarious. I've got a SS somewhere whaling on target dummies and getting 1450ish AP (on my 60) with double untamed etc, I don't think I was bothering to stack Jom or anything either. As I was leveling my other warrior around lvl 83 in dungeons I was dumbfounded at how low my damage was compared to my 60 - Untamed is TRULY gamebreaking.

Again ty everyone for all the detailed info, I appreciate it. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't walkng into a "everyone but XYZ has OP mastery in 80-89 and they perform the worst" situation. On that note, are mastery-proc weapon enchants worth it or are main stats like Landslide still preferable?

no.... mastery is the LAST stat you want to worry about
landslide is basically the best enchant you can have
