Holy with ret gear

I want a change of pace on my paladin and was wondering if holy in ret gear would be viable. I think it would be similar to cata rets who exospammed with a white quality weapon.

Thoughts?

You'd be nerfing your heals, Holy Shock, Denounce and Judgment damage to hit harder with Crusader Strike and white damage. You'd probably get some extra armor and parry out of it too.

A holy pally is a holy pally though. To answer your question - yes, you'd still be viable.

If that is the case, how is ret atm, does TV hit for around 500 non crit?

Ofcourse Holy in Ret gear is viable, and so is Priest in strength gear.

I crit mindy for a 277 tv earlier today. On a clothy you can get up to a 350 tv.

As I said, TV does similar damage to Holy wrath, which is around 520 crit on clothies.

If you crit 559 with avenger shield on most target's, you're doing something wrong. It should at least crit for 670.

559 seems like a stretch in PvP.

yeah avengers shield hits high. I haven't been noticing it much, but more and more lately I keep seeing paladins take like almost half of my health bar.

I have seen one alliance character doing this in a bg. From what I could see it was 'viable', mostly because tbh it doesnt matter what gear you are in in a palladin as long its bis for some spec. Same thing is going on with druids, with resto druids rocking feral gear. NERF PLEASE!
