Highest PvE DPS

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Post screenshots of your highest DPS from PvE (Also can be from PvP, however it may be a bit difficult to reach the highest DPS from PvP), or theory craft about the best PvE DPS class / spec, or best 5 man group for DPS.

My highest so far, which contained alot of AoE from big pulls in RFC, hit 514 with my prot warrior, which constituted 95.2% of my pug groups damage xD (healer was with me but dps was random).

Here's a screen shot of it.

Highest damage for obvious reasons seems like it is going to come from AoE, so would Enhance do alot of damage with their flame shock spreading? I would also imagine combat rogues would do alot of damage. All this is considering however that you have a tank that can tank a large enough group.

arcane mage frost nova then arcane explosion/ or 4 stack arcane barrage would be high dps.

also with the arcane explosion spamming you could also gain stacks leading to more 4 stack arcane barrages.

Got around 94.~ DPS on my enhancement shaman, which is great considering it's an enhancement shaman.

Totally forgot about cookie, probably the highest single target dps target in this level range, definitely something to try out, boomkin on that would definitely be very high dps.

Thanks for starting this thread. I've always wondered what various classes/specs did for PVE dps. I generally keep a mental note of a certain character's top boss fight dps. Trash pulls are so dependent on how fast the group can kill them for certain burst classes. For instance on my ele shammy I remember finishing off a single target pull in BFD hitting 850. That was of course a single LB, ES, Fulmination cast with all 3 critting. He did the same thing with a Toasted Smorc buff over Midsummer Fire Festival and hit 950. Anyway that stuff is so all over the place.

For boss fights though I think my sub rogue was somewhere in the 300s at the beginning of MoP. Demo lock was generally around 220 ish though not very geared beyond GSoJ. Enh shammy fully geared currently getting up to about 250. Ele shammy currently up to 350. Boomkin was my highest at just over 400, though he didn't ave any DEotB.

Buffs can make a big difference too so it's a little tricky to always make a direct comparison. I'm really curious as to what a geared hunter does on a standard boss fight as I've never played one.

The one I did at the top if I remember correctly was with no buffs, the midsummer buffs and Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer would probably help alot.

Hunter is probably going to be the highest single target dps, and with locks being so blah, I would say boomkins are the new affliction.

So new dream team 5 man group:

Healer: Resto Druid
Tank: Prot Warrior
DPS: Arcane Mage
DPS: Combat Rogue
DPS: Moonkin

Probably a close second to combat rogue would be a hunter, but im still thinking rogue. And Arcane mage may or may not work with explosion spamming into a full barrage.

mages would need to stack hit for the fun dungeons which would gimp their dps. i'd put a hunter or a warrior where the mage is.

The problem I see with hunter/ warrior is that its very single target, I mean, the hunter can spread SS which is pretty good, and the warrior can use thunder clap, but that costs 20 rage. Maybe hunter instead of moonkin im not sure, but I think mage could be good, frost nova would also help for big pulls if the tank is taking to much damage.

yeah i agree with ya, however hunters are perfect for that trash since they 1 shot it without having to cast or set up. and they have the dumbest hit cap which is perfect pve ^^ ust my 2cents. id liek to see some pve groups forming for high level content.

To get the highest dps at any given point, you would need to pull the entire dungeon without killing anything until you have pulled everything. I suggest 1 prot warrior (shield wall helps a lot in this situation), 3 rdruids, and a disc priest. Now imagine with Blood and Thunder if you popped a 2h rend and then S+B TC clap spam to keep it up...

Prot pala has more dps if the healers can keep it alive without shield wall.

Me and my druid friend can get pretty far with just him haling and me tanking, but we are both full bis. About the prot pally getting higher damage than warrior im not sure, thunder clap costs no rage and is on a 6 second cooldown, hits for about 100-150 per hit no crit.

And yea, highest damage is going to come from pulling the whole instance before you start attacking, which is easiest in RFC.

I remember fighting cookie solo on my assass rogue in cata and I did 5-6k dps. I don't remember how many stacks I had, I probably got as many as I could without dying. (using bandages, AGM, lifeblood, health pot)

Back then you could only apply 1 person per wep so I was 2x instant poison. I did maybe 1 mutilate, but that itself didn't really matter. I just remember my dps being comparable to that of a dps in a wrath dungeon or a tank in a raid.
