Hi, and looking for some advice

Hi all.

Way back in the day (pre B.C.), I had a priest who, while leveling, discovered the new battlegrounds (I kind of stumbled upon the NPCs and entrance when questing). I got hooked on Warsong Gulch and met some cool people on my realm through it. I wasn't a twink per-say, but I had some really good gear and if I had a warrior by me I was set for a good long time.

Some of my best memories of those times were healing a Tauren warrior twink named Raggy. I can't tell you how many times he would take on 2 or 3 players who would for some reason completely ignore me while I healed the hell out of him. Fun stuff.

Anyway, after a long absence, I've started playing again and was thinking about making a twink priest (my other priest dinged past 29 before I left). My main plays Alliance now, so I would have to go that route.

What brackets do priests really shine in? I was thinking about trying either 10-19 or 20-29.

Also, any advice for someone starting from scratch? I have a main who is nearly 80 and dual gathers, so money isn't too much of a worry.

I feel that in either bracket, Priest can play a vital role - especially priests. Either choice would be a solid choice, but as Caice said, there are going to be changes to the way twinks pvp.

By saying that, I would suggest reading up a bit on the latest news/patch notes before making a decision. I don't know what battlegroup you are part of on your sever as there may be an overwhelming support for 29 twinks. I would say that 19s would be a safer bet for the life of your twink (since we don't know when 3.2 is coming out + the bracket is more popular than 29s).

I have a 29 disc priest and she's really fun. Pretty much can't kill her until she goes OOM. They're very strong in the 29 bracket and a great asset to a team.

Haven't played 19s, so I can't comment on them at that level. More twinks at 19, it's true. But so long as you play on a server or battlegroup with a decent amount of 29s there'll be no problems.

I'm on Galakrond, so the Retaliation battlegroup.

No idea if that's a good or bad thing really.

So, the big change you all mentioned... that's the news about being able to shut off XP and only being able to BG with people in the same state (xp on/off) right? Overall it seems like a good idea, but I'm a little worried about the potential lack of people queuing up and long wait times if you shut it off.

That being said, as long as it's better than when I first got into it (only playing with people on the same server), I'll be fairly happy.

Have they said how people will gain xp in the BG yet? Kills or objectives?

I believe it is objectives (from what I remember) Such as WSG flag cap (everyone should get the xp, not just the flag capper) AB resources gain (maybe even base/node/flag caps) doing objectives in AV (capping a mine, destroying a tower, killing balinda) stuff like that - I am also sure you'll get XP when the game is over (both winning side and losing) but we'll have to wait n see I guess :p
