Herald of the Titans 11.0.7

Unmendable

With the nerf of the totem that solos the achievement and the buff to raid gear beyond 107, gearing for Herald of the titans is different and trickier.

The simplest way to gear a full set at 107 is to turn xp off at 23 and run timewalking dungeons until fully geared. If not playing a tank spec and needing an optional boss; you will need to already be powerful enough to solo the bosses for your bis after everyone leaves, or ask politely to do the optional bosses you need for your bis, or que with a tank friend or fellow Herald Seeker to get the bosses down.

Once you are fully geared you can turn xp on until 30 then turn xp off again (CAUTION leveling with time walking can get you 2 levels from a single dungeon, consider other exp sources). Once you do this there is no going back and your sources of loot become much more limited. Keep in mind there are Loot tables for several different expansions to consider for min maxing.

Bonus note; a level 23 107 twink is a great broken character to get timeweaver and eventually level it up for Herald of the Titans and learn your timeweaver.

I will add comments or edits here for any additional useful gear finds, for gearing for Herald of the Titans.

Level locking at 24 on your way to 30, you can grab ilvl 106 world quest and rarespawn loot from the Dragon Isles; this loot includes potentially lucrative trinkets like Bushwhacker's Compass and the popular level 10 twink necklace that can be triple socketed, Amnesia {CAUTION Amnesia, whether a bug or not, can only be looted once per character, the most value you can get from this drop is at level 24). If you want to grab some of these while level 23 they will be ilvl 100.

When Level Locked at 24 you can attempt to solo or get carried by level 10/11/20/30 twinks or que up in chromie time burning crusade/wotlk dungeons for socketed 106 loot. This method can also be used to get 106 Balefire Branch from BFA or 106 Infinitely divisible Ooze from Shadowlands, or even 106 Parjesh's Medallion from Legion. At level 23 this loot is ilvl 100.

Level locking at 25; you can get a full set of ilvl 107 gear from normal dragonflight dungeons through chromie time. This includes necklaces that can be triple socketed. This loot will be ilvl 95 at 23.

If already 30; crafted gear sets can be made with "Relic of the Past II" this gear is only ilvl 65 and requires level 25.

The wotlk 8 piece crafted sets, Tailoring cloaks, JC rings, necks and trinkets are all applicable to make a full set, below i will list potentially notable crafted items as I continue my research.

  • Mists of Pandaria Engineering Trinket "Ghost Iron Dragonling" can be socketed with three Cogwheels as a stat stick. Cata Cog installation requires the a Cata Engineer at the appropriate level. Pandaria cogs do not require Engineering. This can be crafted with Relic of the Past 1 or 2 since the ilvl of the trinket doesn't matter (props to wtfmang). Non Engineers can equip the trinket. (the on use affect of ghost iron dragonling has been reported to not work).

  • (ilvl 65 applicable) The JC wotlk trinkets do come with 2 sockets.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) Some JC wotlk rings and necklaces come with 1 socket.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) JC wotlk "Shadowmight Ring" comes with 2 sockets but is unique equipped.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) JC Burning Crusade "Necklace of the Deep" comes with 2 sockets, is only agility based, and has no secondaries.
  • (ilvl 31 only) Two JC Burning Crusade Cloth Crowns come with 3 sockets but are, expectedly, only intelligence based, only one, "Crown of the Sea Witch" has 3 sockets and a secondary, but one less intellegence than the other 3 socketed Crown "Coronet of Verdent Flame."
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) JC cata fist weapon "The Perforator" comes with 1 socket but is only agility based.

  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade chestpieces "Hard Khorium Battleplate" and "Sunblessed Breastplate" are intelligence/strength based, have 2 secondaries, and 3 sockets.
  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade "Enchanted Adamantite Breastplate" has 3 sockets, no secondaries, no intelligence or strength, could be used for the +10 parry set bonus. (requires 3)
  • (ilvl 31 only) Five BS Burning Crusade helms have 3 sockets, most of them are plate, one of them is mail; "Storm Helm"
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade "Ragesteel Shoulders" has 2 sockets, and 2 secondaries and is both intelligence/strength based.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade "Belt of the Guardian" has 2 sockets, 2 secondaries and is both intelligence/strength based.
  • (ilvl 31 only) "Red Belt of Battle" has 2 secondaries and is both intelligence/strength based. "Belt of the Gaurdian" is strickly better.
  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade "Enchanted Adamantite Belt" has 2 sockets, no secondaries, no intelligence or strength, could be used for the +10 parry set bonus. (requires 3).
  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade "Felsteel Legginings" has 3 sockets and 2 secondaries but no intelligence or strength
  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade "Enchanted Adamantite Leggings" has 3 sockets, no secondaries, no intelligence or strength, could be used for the +10 parry set bonus. (requires 3)
  • (ilvl 31 only) BS Burning Crusade "Enchanted Adamantite Boots" has 2 sockets, no secondaries, no intelligence or strength, could be used for the +10 parry set bonus. (requires 3).
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade "Flambane Bracers" has 1 sockets, no secondaries, no intelligence or strength.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade "Adamantite Plate Bracers" has 1 socket, no secondaries, but is intelligence/strength based.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade "Sunblessed gauntlets" are the best stats for plate gauntlets from Burning Crusade BS that can be made into ilvl 65 and has 2 sockets.
  • (ilvl 65 applicable) BS Burning Crusade Adamantite Weapons are appliacable, no shield recipe for BS Burning Crusade.

During TWW season 1, the rings from Necrotic Wake can be double socketed with "Magnificent Jeweler's Setting" at level 24 these rings are ilvl 106, at level 23 these rings are ilvl 100. The Grim Batol rings are minimum ilvl 140 sadly.

Level Locked at 25; old world green drops are ilvl 101 and can be farmed and transferred to level 30s. (dragonflight green drops may be different). ilvl 101 green drops can be sourced from; killing rares across chromie time cata, timewalking dungeons, soloing and farming a dungeon of your choice in chromie time, killing mobs in the open world.

Although underwhelming; level 30s can fill both trinket slots with the "Arena Master" trinket from the Gurubashi Arena.

Less underwhelming, if you have the Warlords of Dreanor heirloom trinkets but have not upgraded them at all, they will be low enough item level to be usable.

At level Lock 24; the popular twink trinket "Armored Elekk Tusk" from Dreanor Treasures is ilvl 106 (CAUTION this treasure can only be looted once per character). All rare loot and treasures from wod will be ilvl 106 at 24. (thanks to wtfmang)

SOME OF THESE ARE NOT SCALED LOW ENOUGH will update the ones that have been tested

Other Trinkets Include
  • Call of the Wolfmother
  • Empty Crawdad Trap
  • Rimefrost Fetish
  • Tiny Iron Star
  • Greka's Dentures (looks promising) Strength
  • Gruuk's Evil Eye
  • Corrosive Tongue of Reeg'ak (looks promising) Intellect
  • Giant Stalker's Guile (looks promising) Agility
  • Resonant Hidecrystal of the Gorger (looks promising) Agility
  • Smoldering Cerulean Stone (looks promising) Agility
  • Pulsating Brain of No'losh (looks promising) Intellect
  • Scales of Gennadian (looks promising) Agility
  • Poison Cask ---WRONG THIS ITEM IS ALWAYS LEVEL 30 ILVL 140 MINIMUM---
  • Fungus-Infected Hydra Lung (looks promising) Intellect ---WRONG THIS ITEM IS ALWAYS LEVEL 30 ILVL 140 MINIMUM---
  • Smoldering Heart of Hyperious
  • Rabid Talbuk Horn (looks promising) Agility

at Level Lock 26; the 20th anniversary event vendor "Bobadormu" sells gear, especially mastery gear and weapons at ilvl 107, perfect for Retribution Paladins, Survival Hunters, and any other specs that utilize mastery to its fullest.

the Rammstein's Lightning Bolts trinket from Classic Timewalking (Stratholme) has been absolutely blasting for me, highly recommend for any Crit build. Only a 1min CD and does 6x-13x what a lot of other direct damage trinkets do. Acquired at lvl 23, ilvl 107
