Help Wanted : Recording WSG stats for twinkinfo users

As part of a twinkinfo stats project I'm working on I'd like to record and display wsg battleground statistics for level 19 twinkinfo users shortly and NEED YOUR HELP!.

The goal is to produce something like this for US and EU twinkinfo users:

Battlegrounds - WarcraftRealms.com

To help me on this project please download and install the killingfields mod from here :

Killing Fields - WarcraftRealms.com

I need some sample data to help set this up. After you've installed and enabled the addon and completed a few wsg's send me a PM please.

I'll need a few sample files from US and EU to get this running properly. Would also appreciate some sample files from twinkinfo users who have a non english language set.

This is the .lua file that killingfields updates after you finish a battleground :

World of Warcraft/WTF/Accounts/XXX/SavedVariables/WR_KillingFields.lua

Ok downloaded and installed would be pretty cool to see some actual stats. Does it record data passively? I don't see anything in the interface. It's early so no games. Guessing I won't be able to /afk or it will mess up the data. still need to figure out how to upload my data files, will try to get into some WSG games later today.

It records data to the .lua file listed above only after you COMPLETE a wsg. To help me build a file upload script I'll just need a few of those files via email.

If you can complete a WSG and check the file size and let me know if it's being written to as well, the mod is old but still works.

Thanks for offering to help, I've merged my battlenet and wow account, got some lame arsed penguin pet and now can't transfer for 30 goddamn days, else I'd be in WSG getting this data myself.

To clarify a few things, I need the files this mod produces emailed to me so I can build a twinkinfo uploader for you to upload them to. If you install this mod please PM me for email details or host the file on your site, blog, whatever and send me the link.

The mod records flag captures and returns per player but Warcraftrealms.com doesn't display this on their site.

What I'm working on will report flag caps and returns per player along with all the other twink stats I can think of. e.g. effective DPS, HPS etc.

At the very least this will record which faction wins/time of day. effective DPS and HPS would be sweet as well but i imagine it being very low like 10dps or something.

just wondering:

why?

SO I CAN STEALZ ALL YOUR GOLDZ.

cos I think a searchable, sortable history of twink wsg 'screenie' stats would be pretty cool and warcraftrealms don't report flag caps or returns.

* When two big guild A teams premade, I'd like to see the numbers.

* I'd like to search for friends and guildies and twinkinfo members and see some of their bg's.

e.g. here's a wsg that Quelfep played in, looks like he arrived late, did a little damage and didn't die :

Warsong Gulch - WarcraftRealms.com

Well good luck. If you can manage to make it a real concise archive, then I would have to agree that it'd be pretty cool.

The next step would be getting livefeeds hooked up, from multiple PoVs, in each game :p

this will only work on ruin and blackout it seems. i don't think vengeance will have enough solid data

Sad but true... QQ. This may also serve as a useful recruiting / transfer tool..

e.g. No wsg in my EU battlegroup for a month and counting. Ohhh look at all those wsg's going on over at Blackout EU / Ruin US... Might help some people decide to transfer if they can 'see' wsg's are being played.

If you'd like to help gather some sample data for this project, don't forget to :

Load out of date addons

killing fields mod is old and won't be enabled by default in 3.x

wasn't able to directly unzip into my interface--> addon folder. Had to save it there first then extract manually. Load out of date addons is a good tip. in your WTF folder you should see two files .lua and .lua.bak the .lua file is the one Big will need not sure what the .lua.bak file does.

I've taken a quick look at the mod code and it looks like the flag caps and returns are written to the files :

Code:
...[WR_Chars][name][colName] = GetBattlefieldStatData(i, u);

link to the WOW API call here in case you're interested :

API GetBattlefieldStatData - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

Maaaaan I hope this works 'out of the box'. The thought of dicking around and testing addon code that only does anything AFTER a battleground finishes gives me the heebie jeebies...

Nice :) worked out how to extract the data from the .lua files, could do with a couple more sample files to. Thanks for sending yours over grabco.

To generate a bit more interest in this project I've got a couple of tabard loot codes to give away to people who install this mod and send me their .lua file to play with. Will /roll in a couple of weeks to select the winners and PM you the lootcard code.
