Healing addons?

I use no healing-specific addon when healing. Clique and Healbot just tends to take focus away from the game and make you consentrate 100% on the raidframes...

I agree with what this guy has said, I heard gridz is decent but I can't say for sure. I roll with normal raid frames.

You definately need icicle / juked for juking/tracking interrupts(I prefer icicle). Battleground targets is another necessity, as your healing strategies should change depending on who you queue against / comps. You can also set it up so it shows range on enemy players and it helps me to dot rogues etc when they pop too.

If you're a priest, you can get recount to track your absorbs.

Thats really it.

Edit:
I just wanted to say if you get grids make sure its not making you tunnel on the raidframes. I'll maybe test it for myself soon.
Also get capping. All twinks need this. Its good to show if you need to go for repick or if you need to get you and your fc in a position to cap.

Before I used grid quite a lot and didn't find any problems with tunnelling than I would any other raid frame. what I liked with grid is that is showed (with numbers) when someone was getting healed so you don't over heal someone as opposed to the off colour bar that default raid frames have when healing someone.

After using quite a lot of addons and numerous tweaks I have since started to use only the ones I absolutely cannot live without.

PVP control: I use this addon for two reasons, 1st being that when you are cc'd/countered (fear, stun, poly, etc) it will alert everyone around you that you are cc'd or interrupted in /s or /p. What it says depends on what you make it say. 2nd being that it gives an emote when you have low mana. While vent makes many of these things moot, when you are pugging or even semi premading it helps out those around you that aren't in vent or if your like me and too lazy to get in vent most of the time.

Capping: obvious reasons

Battleground targets: Helps you with your gear/strat since, as a support class, your gear should be a counter to what the opposing team has allowing you to best help out your team.

Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) : Used to track wsg debuff.

GladiatorLOSsa: tells you through voice when cooldowns are used. Very useful!

Spell alerter: Helpful tool to track enemy cooldowns, especially because it shows the target! I use it mainly to know when my team mates have been interrupted/cc'd and to help with shadowstep --> kick.

Vialcooldowns/icicle: Used to track enemy cooldowns. I prefer GladiatorLOSsa + vialcooldowns over interrupt bar because with interrupt bar it only tracks it once, so if there are mutiple rogues/mages that you are trying to juke you are in for a VERY rough time.

The next few are just ones that I really like, but you can still play effectively without them.

Simple Holy power: For a Hpally I cannot live without this. It gives you a bar that you can place anywhere on the screen that shows your holy power. While simple, you'd be surprised how much it makes things easier.

Omni CC: shows numerically the cooldown remaining overtop of everything. Very useful!

Bagnon: Being that I'm a gear whore with multiple sets, having one giant bag not only helps with organization, but also with changing gear quickly and easily.

Quartz: While being very similar to the default castbar, what makes this useful is that it shows your latency and gives you a tiny red bar at the end of the cast bar and if you stop right in the red portion of the bar that cast still completes. This "red portion" is your latency which other cast bars do not show. You still can do this trick without quartz, with quartz it is MUCH easier and while this only makes your casts a TINY tiny bit faster, why not give yourself a slight edge over everyone else?

While all of these addons do not directly impact your healing like grid, vuhdu, or any other raid frame addon or even clique might, what they do do is provide you with tools to help you be the best support class that you can be.

Gladiator losa is really nice.

No one else has mentioned bartender, it allows you to change your ui and add extra bar + tonnes more. It also makes binding keys easier.

What is the addon I see some healers with on youtube where the 10 players on the team you see all of their health but it also shows the number?

Tence gave me a lot to think about :D One that I love to death for tracking CD's is ForteXorcist - I don't use all of it, just the bar that shows spells slide across as they become available. I need to check all these out! Great thread.

Clique + Grid are the best two healing addons ever made. boom!

I've used many of those mentioned by Tence, but I also use HealBot.
I know it sometimes is very inacurate but I really like the 'click n' cast' mode. And if are tunneling because of HealBot / other healing AddOns you should just practice some, or move it to the center of your screen :p

edit: I also use Sexycooldown, gives you a nice and easy configureable bar to track your CD's, very nice :)

use grid and clique but don't click, that is all.

p.s. warcraft default frames are bugged when ppl leave/enter battlegrounds, blizz doesn't care enough to fix it.

Healbot seems to be better for druids(their hots). But for me, I can't use it because it ties up my mouse too much from not holding targets/hovering over to cast. Maybe I could get use to it, but I tried it for about a week and it did not work for me. I tunneled on it too much and it messed up my movement/positioning.

Same for me, doesn't work out in PvP.

Well I guess I have just gotten used to it, I have always used it, tried with Grid, raid frames etc, but I found it a huge disadvantage that you first had to click the target, then press the healing spell.
I've arranged HealBot so it alerts me, with flashing lights etc, when people are being targeted, so I know when to heal and that way, I dont sit and stare at HealBot just waiting for something to happen :)

using healbot makes me feel like i cant mouseturn

it kinda limits movement which sucks

You can setup grid/clique with custom mouse over macros so you don't actually have to click on anything.

That sounds interesting, could you give me an example of a simle mousover macro? :D

#showtooltip Flash of Light
