Handy Resources for building a Twink

Just wanted to share a couple of key tools that helped me in planning out my current 79 Paladin twink. These resources are definitely applicable to any level of twink out there though.



Aside from using the obvious databases like wowhead, here's what else I used for the groundwork:

There is a Character Planner feature on this site that is pretty well done. It allows you to completely dress your planned twink along with determining what enchants and gems you want to affix to each piece of gear. It basically allows you to build the paperdoll and stats you would see by pressing the "C" character in game. Just a really handy tool to allow you to build that character that's been in your mind without having to scribble stuff on paper to track everything.

This is a very cool Data Mining site that parses information from WoW Armory and breaks it down into selectable chunks on what gear people are wearing for their respective class and levels - with particular attention to the "9s" levels. You just choose the criteria on the right hand side and then you can easily browse through what are the most popular gear choices for the character type you've selected. Very cool tool for identifying if you've missed out on any considerations for gear.

I really do think this could be posted anywhere for twinks to see, not just the 79 section. But they are great finds. I just recently found out about CharDev, but that data mine site is an interesting find.



I used WoWHead whenever I made a twink. To look up possible gear I would mouse over Database, click Items, and on the new page I would click Create A Filter. I can customize my search down to even the most minute detail.



WoW Wiki is also a great resource for both twinking and general WoW play. Its a great place to figure out formulas for stats/enchants (Crusader % to Proc = Weapon Speed * 1.667) There is also a section describing in detail what a Twink is as well as links to a few guides that are listed at the bottom.



For Hunters, I suggest using Petopia. It is an excellent resource for looking up all the possible tame-able pets. Even if you are not Beast Master spec, you can at least tame a really cool looking pet.

Yeah in hindsight I probably should have posted this in the General forum or something. I'm fine if the post gets moved so more people can share and get resources for twinking.
 
how do you assign a "random enchantment" to your gear on that site? for example, how would i go about adding revelosh shoulders of the monkey to my character?

Guides section? I wish I had seen this before...



Impressive, the first character builder I've seen that includes the ability to determine stats on a random stat item.
