<Green> Alternative End-game EU Raiding

Hello Twink Info!

This is the official recruitment thread for <Green>, a guild on Bronzebeard EU - Horde. We are an end-game Cataclysm raiding guild with one special feature: we only raid in Uncommon quality items, better known as "greenies". We are currently still in the process of levelling toons on our realm and we invite skilled raiders to join us!

You might wonder, "what's fun about raiding in greens?". Here's a list of what makes this type of raiding awesome:

  • Every encounter will be significantly harder to tackle, making the fights much more interesting.
  • Because of the high level of difficulty, you will be able to do progress runs throughout entire patches. No longer out of stuff to do!
  • Gear is easy to get by, you won't have to farm HCs countless times to get your greenies. We might even have some in the guild bank for you!
  • You will learn to max out your class and you will be able to use these skills when you raid on your main. (If you ever want to go back to epics that is)
  • Because most of the BiS items are random enchants of BoEs, much variation for different encounters is possible.
  • Green-gear raiding is overall a nice distraction from everyday raiding.

The guild is led by me (Yuc, Restoration Shaman) and Kore (Protection Warrior). We will be 10-man oriented and while we like a relaxed social setting we want to take raiding seriously. Because most of the best-in-slot items are quest rewards, it is encouraged that you reroll on our server, perhaps even learn a new class! We are currently recruiting:

  • Blood Death Knight (DPS OS prefered)
  • Tank Paladin (DPS OS prefered)
  • Discipline Priest (Holy OS a must)
  • Restoration Druid (tank OS prefered)
  • Destruction Warlock (other DPS OS prefered)
  • Hunter (dual-spec a must)
  • Elemental/Enhancement Shaman (dual-spec a must)
  • Shadow Magic Priest (healing OS prefered)
  • Retribution Paladin (tank OS prefered)

We also accept any exceptional apply. You can apply by PMing me or Kore on the Twink Info forums. Be sure to read through our rules before you do:

  • Only Uncommon "green" quality gear is allowed during raid encounters.
  • All gems are allowed.
  • All enchants are allowed.
  • All profession buffs are allowed.
  • Profession-specific gear is only allowed if it's of Uncommon quality.
  • Reforging is allowed.
  • Belt buckles and Epic quality leg armors are allowed.
  • All Food buffs are allowed.
  • All Flasks are allowed.
  • All potions are allowed.
  • You can roll on the drops even if they are Epic, however you can only use them outside of guild raids.
  • Gear that is not needed will be disenchanted and the loot will be used to help new members out with enchants.

These rules do not cover social rules, though it is assumed that this is general knowledge amongst our members.

We hope to help new members out with gear, enchants, gems, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read through our recruitment thread and we hope to see you in-game.

Good luck tanking heroic anub in greens

green cata or green lk?

i assume they mean cata greens. which of course would trivialize content instead of making it hard...so maybe they do indeed mean lk greens.

which of course would suck ass and youd get stuck in icc regular mode (at best), not to mention hm ulduar/toc

and finally, if you do mean LK greens what do you intend to reforge or gem?

Thats what i figured you meant but even so some of that content will be brutal especially on tanks

whaaa? no way dude. in my cata tank set im hard expertise capped, hit capped, 22.44 mastery along with 25k armor (62.4% reduction), 19% dodge&parry with a 54% chance to block. i have a few blues, but its mostly green and im using the peacekeeper sword lulz. also no enchants, gems, or reforging. and did i mention 44k hp. all stats are unbuffed

EVERY encounter will be significantly easier to beat than using lk gear, not harder.....especially in 10m mode. so yea, i mean if you wanna do this glhf, but i wouldnt advertise as it being more challenging

I think you missed what this thread is about. We are planning on doing 10-man Cataclysm raids with Cataclysm green gear.

oh cata raids with cata greens....brutal, but gl

almost seems impossible in heroic. but with new 4.2 nerfs to normal should be considerably easier. Wut u gonna do with the drops though?

gl with firelands. dont see it getting any greens that improve over whats already available

Indeed, the nerfs where the main reason for wanting to try it. Drops will go to anyone who wants them, if they want them. Otherwise they will be DE'd for mats.

We might consider it. Once its very clear that we can't beat a boss because it hits the enrage timer at 50% or one shot's our tank we'll consider allowing some slightly more powerful armour. This way we can continue with "progression" at any rate we like.

Will you start using blue items once you can't get any further in greens? For example, Firelands will expect you to have full epic gear, so using the 5man heroic blues would still provide a challenge.

Perhaps, but we'll definitely try greens first.

firelands will probably require all epics. unless the bosses are majorrrrrrly tuned down they sound hard as fuck reading the guides from the ptr atm. i highly doubt greens will provide tanks with enough avoidance/mitigation for most raids, but certainly not firelands, and healers prolly wont have a big enuff mana pool or enufff mp5 to survive. dps might be ok in "BiS" greens if they know how to play their class perfectly, but it will still be less than a similar player in epics. not hating, just saying firelands will almost certainly be undoable, and even t11 raids will be hard as fuck if not impossible. even heroics like za/zg would be hard since its designed to have a min ilvl of 346 or w/e

do you guys have any toons fully geared out yet to see their stats or made any chardevs? would be interested in seeing what stats are looking like in your idea of bis greens for raidin

Rayu made a warrior chardev, but lost it the fool^^

Anyway, a tank is looking at about 130k+ hp and pretty decent mitigation and avoidance. I can't remember the exact figures, but they weren't unimpressive. Ofc we have considered eventualities like oom healers or hitting enrage timers, but until we encounter it we won't really know whats possible and what's not until we try. We reckon that lack of DPS will be the issue here, more so than other factors at least, but until we get empirical data we wont know.

Edit: Heres a prot war chardev. The parry and dodge aren't quite as high as I thought, but that's to be expected I guess.
