Here is episode 3 of PVP where I joined an AB where horde was losing (600-700), my speed build allowed me to get to objectives faster and help our team turn it around.

Notice that, in this game, i accidentally had https://www.wowhead.com/item=11808/circle-of-flame?bonus=6712 equipped as I was testing something out in between queues, did i use it a single time? no.

I wanted to leave LM at the very end, and rush to mine because if either of our other two nodes gets assaulted, then we lose as we didn't have the lead yet. But by the time I got to mine, we already had the lead, so I headed back to BS.

If I were a bramble surv hunter, I could have done the same thing, likely effortlessly, but to do it on an hpal with a build that some people don't consider viable makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.


Everything below is crossed out because a new video has now been posted.

Here is episode 2 where a real BG was recorded, and some guidance on gold-making as requested by quite a few folks on here.

I am still setting up my key-binds and macros as I recently moved over to bleeding hollow.

The purpose of this video is to demonstrate an alternative way to play holy paladin as a PVP tank.

Sorry for the poor video quality (in the process of compiling a higher quality one, but wanted to share this preliminary version with you now).

This is some quick work done in about 2 hours, I will make another one soon.

Good post. Vid shows ur playstyle well. Guys u have asked glance to stop trying to post his style in threads asking about BiS builds and stratagies don't dunk on him now that he made a clear post about alternate style that explains why he thinks it is effective and fun.

Glance did you want feedback here on this play? (that is not "you play wrong")

Edit: I think this is 2 videos, or at least time stamp when gameplay starts. Most everyone here is familiar w ur build and why so like a huge portion of the video were you explain all your choices is kinda just a waste to this audience. I think in the gameplay you are explaining allot of things that are just apparent when someone is looking as well. I think w this kind of goofy alt playstyle vid would be better if it was more fun. Your playstyle is not very neuanced and that's fine. Instead of trying to overexplain things just have fun w it imo.

I came here expecting nothing of worth and even then i was disappointed.

My favourite part was when the twinks chasing you, besides the Hunter realized that you were worthless and went to do something productive while you couldn't contest a flag.

You're not even that fast, can't blast Eurobeat with this. 0/10
 
I feel like the game wouldn't have been closer if you went with a standard set up, mostly because your team would have less deaths overall thus amplifying your dps classes damage overall ( because not being dead) Kinda sad that players are still easily baited off nodes and stuff though, figured most players would be smart enough to jsut chase some random dude to the middle of nowhere.

Idk I just feel like you could accomplish the same thing with a more normal hpally set up, like for example I have watched tense kite half my team from mines to ww to the bridge between ww and lh with his normal setup.

Best part though was the warrior that couldn't get up on the boats, really show casing that warrior mentality right there.
 
As bad as this build is, it still somehow performed better than this in my head... :KEKW:

Edit: play rdruid, man. This is just an hpal trying to be an rdruid.
 
In a sea of people just doing random twink crap and survival hunter mega meta... this kind of stuff is fun to watch and glad it can be made and more importantly that the format can support it.

Do I want to watch another F-tier survival hunter do the same stupid shit anybody can do for the 1000th time. No.

On that note I really do think you could keep the core of the build, by removing the runeblade and stepping it up with a bit more speed items and going with a real caster weapon. That alone would add tons of damage and healing... the build would just be better on paper and in game.
 
btw did your chest proc at all in that bg? i was trying to keep an eye out for it but I dont think I saw anything.

It's an interesting playstyle, though I'd guess its success depends a lot on what bg you're in?
I only queue WSG/AB specific so can't really comment on the particulars of this one.
I imagine it could be effective in AB, keeping geniuses chasing you so their bases have less defenders.
WSG maybe not so much with any healer spot being that much more vital.
Anyway it was fun to watch but yeah, you probably don't need all the explanations - cut to the chase!

I would agree with that if he didn't take a Healer slot.

Why isn't this build for ret? I'll never understand it.

This is not wargames... him taking a healer spot as opposed to what? Some guy in quest greens and heirlooms?

Is healer slot even a thing though? I mean there are games w 3-4 healers to 0 so I'm not sure what a healer slot is.

I agree w the comment about running this as ret. Unless the PvP talent is not available I don't think running this ret loses a whole lot.
 
It is what it is, and its specific. So comparing it to anything is pointless, its unique and should be viewed as such

I'm all for glance having his fun, but if someone rages at him for being useless, they're totally in the right. By which i mean, it's still a team game at the end.

I mean he can't be any more useless than a twink queuing something like enhance/feral into a team of survival hunters... he clearly showed he occupied 5 guys at the start of that video... that is more than I can say when I get 3 shot on enhance by some gimpy-hairlipped survival.
